True, but Edelman was a 7th round pick and Hill was a 5th rounder, so not the best examples to prove that, if your point is we must use the 11th pick on a WR.

Granted, Hill only dropped because of character concerns.  But he also hasn't exactly assuaged those concerns with his off-the-field behavior.

Look at how WRs are paid.  The top ones are actually paid more than LTs.  That tells you how they're valued by NFL GMs.  WR is a premium position and the Jets are better off taking their #1 ranked WR over their #4 OL.  If it goes the other way that's just fine, too.

WRs might also be paid more because of the fantasy football and jersey sales impact.  And just how many of those highly paid WRs were worth it or will prove to be worth it?  Certainly AJ Green, Odell Beckham and Brandin Cooks haven't justified their top 10 deals.  And I doubt Amari Cooper will justify his $20M per.

Meanwhile the LT's who got paid, outside of Nate Solder, have been much safer.  There could be some market correction coming in that direction very soon.

GMs don't make contract decisions based on fantasy football and jersey sales.  Nate Solder has been a disappointment with the Giants.
