One Big Fat Jamal Adams Thread, It's All The Same Discussion, Anyway (MERGED ELEVENTY-BILLION)

It’s funny when it comes to Jamal there isn’t a middle ground.  There are those who want him gone ASAP and then those who feel he is super elite and should be untouchable.  I’m more neutral.  I’m open for a trade but I need ALOT back.  On the flip side I don’t think he as good as he thinks he is but there is no question he is a bigtime talent and having him on the defense is a great weapon.

I’m trying to stay off of this hellsite today but I keep refreshing this stupid page to see if he gets traded. It feels like when your team lines up for a 36 yard field goal to win the game and you can’t watch it so you’re on the ESPN app seeing if it’s good

This is why I want to trade him. I do think if we can't get fair value we should hold onto him and them tag him so we hold him for 3 years. Then let him walk for the 3rd round comp pick if a tag and trade can't be worked out after the 3rd year.

agree, has to be "blow me over' package, BUT, some teams close to a SB just a stud Def player away may overpay,,and remember Jerry Jones is the GM is Dallas, and he will overpay cause he also gets the ticket sales and hometown kid who many say one of top D players in game today. Its a deal where Jerry (for once) wont be roasted in press for

He didn't attend because he wasn't happy with his contract offer and selected to miss training camp reps because of his greed.

the dispute wasn't over the amount of money, but when the signing bonus was paid.  some have it staggared through out the year.  sam wanted it up front.  and no, you can't go to training camping until the contract is signed.

Jamal's people saying it didn't come from their camp isn't any smoking gun that the team leaked it.  I would expect whoever leaked it to deny it any event.  The Cowboys are also "a league source" and stirring this sh*t up would be to their advantage of getting something done sooner than later, wouldn't it?

The only problem is that Jamal would’ve denied that he was not going to participate if it wasn’t true. Denying the root of the leak and denying the leak are different things. If the Cowboys leaked it then why would they know?

You’ll recall that Jamal went radio silent leading up to the trade deadline last year, too, but he was talking with his buddies about getting to Dallas. If Jamal is quiet this week, it could be a similar dynamic—his agent telling him to shut up and let it play out

The problem here is Jamal Adams personality is going to make it extremely hard to deal with if you tag him and keep control over him for 3 years. Just trade him for the max value available and call it a day.

i totally agree,,which means he probably is FA quicker unless miracle happens and he signs longterm Jet deal. He wants Cowboys and only way he MAY stay is if he still here 2020, Gase fired and Gregg gets HC gig..then 'maybe'

he is going to cowboys the day he is a unrestricted free agent,,so get some goodies instead of losing for ZIP

No, I understand...just wish it worked out differently.

Dallas has some pretty big contracts over there, curious to see how they pay him.

It’s not the fact that it’s a stupid virtual camp or whatever it is. It’s the fact that Jamal’s agent went to Schefter to declare that Jamal isn’t showing up anywhere without a new contract. Douglas has to either extend him or trade him this offseason. Anyone who thought otherwise @Defense Wins Championships @Jet Nut) is mother****ing clown shoes.

#3 is justy trading one guy that wants to get overpaid for another guy that wants to get overpaid.

Option #2 with Jags is interesting

Yea but I'd rather overpay for Edge than overpay for Safety, Jets would likely get an additional pick thrown in due to the contract value (rookie deal vs franchise tag)

Glenn Naughton tweeted that Adams is looking for $17M per.

ya but it depends on how he handles the contract..Revis held out midway thru deals and didnt honor them forcing Jets to redo and fork over another signing bonus.. I am not sure how Adams handles? Does he have Revis's agents?

Adams isn't Trent Williams saying he will never play another down for the Redskins as long as he lives because he doesn't like how they handled his medical situation.  The Cowboys know he wants to go there and that seems to be "his" team.  I don't doubt for a second they would have a source that knew about this kind of sh*t.  I wouldn't really blame him.  Put me in the NFL as a stud and I would be trying to finagle myself to a huge contract with the Jets.  No joke.

Right.  Him being quiet is kind of a mature - listen to your agent thing.  You couldn't imagine the amount of times people ignore smart, valid advice from those that know better.  I would expect Adams to be like Joe Exotic demanding to testify and hanging himself at his own trial.  The fact he is quiet is for the best.

I always find it funny how our fanbase is so wiling to trade one of the best players we've drafted in a long long time. I know he's a safety but the guy is an impact player and one of the best defensive players in the league.

For a team as crappy at drafting, and as talentless as the Jets have been for about 10 years now, you'd think we'd be more appreciative of players like Jamal Adams lol.

We sucked before Adams and suck with Adams.  He makes no difference.

I'll appreciate an OT or EDGE rusher that moves the needle for the franchise.
