I saw this posted somewhere and found interesting

Denzel Mims is Stephen Hill.

They look identical on film: They run the same, they both aren't good route runners, they both struggled with drops, both are excellent blockers, and they both struggled with contested catches against talented competition.

Stephen Hill:
6'4" 210lbs
40 time: 4.36 (97th)
Speed score:  (99th)
Burst score: (95th)
Catch radius: (95th)
Breakout age: 19
College dominator: (44.9)

Denzel Mims:
6'3" 207lbs
40 time: 4.38 (96th)
Speed score: (96th)
Burst score: (90th)
Catch Radius: (96th)
Breakout age: 19
College Dominator: (42.3)

They both even wore number 5 in college

The difference is the offenses the two played in.

Georgia Tech ran a spread option and ran the ball A LOT.

Baylor has a complex hybrid spread offense where they pass the ball A LOT.

Who knows but Mims should have a much better understanding of the WR position.

But yeah, this is interesting, their measurables are scarily similar.

I personally don't see it. Mims has way better ball skills from what I've seen imo.

Yes, Jetsons.
Hill’s total reception count for his three year stay at Georgia Tech (49) was bested on the yearly by Mims.  And before someone tells me that’s a function of the respective offenses they were in, let me say that that is my point. Stephen Hill was a physical specimen who lacked the polish one gets from being a focal point of their offense.  Mims, according to OP is the same physical specimen, but with in-game experience, which makes them NOT identical.

Difference?  One is arrogant, self centered and believes nothing is in his control to make the situation better.  The other is out there, trying to get better, is motivated, has something to prove.  Plays for his teammates, not for himself.  Believes that he can control his destiny.  Mims' optimism and drive could change after two years in the league, but if he just keeps the same mindset and drive he will be fine in the NFL.

No offense to your research, but this a flat out crock of sh*t.  HIll disappeared because of a couple of very serious knee injuries.  Cam Newton was in love with him and Ricky Proehl said he was going to start opposite Kelvin Benjamin on the 2015 team that went 15-1 and lost the super bowl.  Proehl said Hill was going to make him a famous WR coach. They specifically complimented Hill's work ethic and drive in numerous articles during his time in Carolina.  The guys body just didn't hold up.

As shown the production is the difference.

The guy I would compare to hill, not body wise but production wise is Ruggs.  I know people will get bent out of shape me saying that.  He is a guy I would worry about being over drafted due to recent similar player bias.

I'm with you on this. It's Lam Jones, the sequel. And we all know sequels are never as good as the original.

How can someone be really good at the 3-cone drill, and really bad at the 20 yard shuttle?  I thought they both tested similar things.

The shuttle measures start-stop, the 3-cone measures ability to accelerate while changing direction

Hill was awful. Anyone comparing Mims to Hill has either never watched them both play football or doesn't know what they're looking at. Seriously.

Hill was a case of people getting caught up in his height/weight/speed numbers and ignoring the fact that he couldn't change direction or catch the ball.

Mims is also tall and fast, but that's where the similarity ends.
