If that’s your top LT in the draft - the guy you envision protecting Darnold’s blindside for the next decade - you don’t get cute like that to hopefully pick up a 3rd or 4th rounder. Nobody does. Next year there might be 0-2 LT prospects in the whole draft and we might not get a shot at any if there are even any to be had.

A 6’7, 365 lb OT with more impressive footwork and lateral quickness than most dudes who are 60 lbs lighter than him.

Becton is a legit freak and a legit dynamo at his position.

Is he a finished product? No. And neither is any OT in the draft not named Andrew Thomas.

Thomas was the safe, damn near sure bet to at least get another Brick type for the next decade barring injury.

Becton was the swing for the fences, potential once in a generation player at the position if he keeps his head on straight.

I was a bigger WR than OT guy at #11, but I’m sure as hell not going to fault Douglas for adding a legit “planet player” at #11 at a major position of need.
