After years of going for the safe pick early that ultimately underwhelms, I for one find it refreshing that we will fail the opposite way this year. 

I know nothing of the player but the dudes scouting report screams bust if drafted by the Jets.

Hopefully the Jets will get the same results.

Ogden had no weaknesses and when he was drafted he was already a polished prospect to match his freakish size and raw ability. He was a perfect LT after being a perfect LT prospect with only potential injuries putting a successful career in question. Becton is not a finished product. They’re both enormous men, but not the same.

Also at 6’8 Ogden weighed 318 at his combine — some 50 lbs less than Becton despite being an inch or so taller. Ogden didn’t put on that extra weight until he got older. If Becton follows that same pattern he’ll be 400 lbs. 

Again, if Becton drops some weight and becomes a Fabini-caliber blocker it’s a successful pick. He doesn’t need to be Ogden, and the odds of him becoming Ogden II are way slimmer than he is.

Murray is a monster.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the stories like his.  It amazes me watching someone play a sport with such ferocity but off the field have a heart like that to his adopted siblings.  I'm getting bit a soft, but that I like seeing that stuff.

Becton is a monster. Raw talent alone he’s going to bully some guys. If they can get him into NFL shape and refine his technique, he’ll be a stud.

Because you like the combine beast we usually take in the first (the only difference from years past is that this projected 2nd 3rd round at the beginning of the year is not a can’t miss) you don’t have to put those two probably generational WR down.
