Why?  Trading down is what Macc should have done at least once or twice here.

When you have a depleted roster and the draft is heavy on round 2/3 talent, ending up with three 3rd rounders is a great move.

100%

If the Jets were hot for Hamler, I could see us going for Darnell Mooney with one of our 3rd or the 4th.  Another smaller guy with great speed, and some incredible leaping ability. A guy I really like.

Hmmm.... Seems like there was something many teams did not like with Mims...  I wonder if JD will take Hennessey now that he traded down and got an extra 3rd rounder... Perhaps take Hennessey in round 2 now, and take a tandem or WR's in round three and hope one pans out ???

Yes, comp picks can be traded. Have been able to do so for a few years now.

Horrible return. So close to becoming a JD believer.

Part of me is sad we probably wont get Mims, but I acknowledge that we do have a lot of holes.

...but i swear if we don't double dip.

Good lord I hope not.

We are going to go from drafting all safeties to drafting all OL. Our team will always be completely unbalanced haha.

A 3rd

Still not thrilled but let's see what we get! I will say it's kinda strange Mims falling like this

Until we know why Mims is plummeting, I'll give JD the benefit of the doubt there.  He interviewed the kid twice.

Love the trade.  I still expect at least two receivers tonight

I sure hope so. Extra pick gives Douglas some room to get weird.

No, you're not.  I'm thrilled.

Same here. We wanted a GM years past to trade back and he did. I think he has a plan, we just aren't used to that around here.

Does that make 3 3rds?

For people possibly bitching about the early trade post from me or others.  NFL network put the Seahawks logo at 48 when they were announcing pick 46.

3 3rds. I can't be mad.  We have lots of holes.  JD isn't cutting corners.

Mid-second grades aren’t always much higher than 3rd round grades. Joe has 4 picks in the same grade range, rather than 3. Turn them into ballers and win!

The sweet spot in this draft is the 2nd-4th round.  The Jets need a ton of young players that don't suck. Trading down to acquire another pick in this territory isn't a surprise

But for real, when was the last time the Jets traded down and got any sort of decent pick to do so?

I welcome this absurd change of events.

Any chance Mims still there at 59 is there?

I get the feeling Mims will be there at 59 and we still won't take him.  There's always one guy who we all want who unexpectedly falls even further than the average fan would expect.
