Also note that Perriman not only fits the speed and athleticism profile, but has very similar measurables to Mims. This alone should make the JETS much more difficult to defend.

Makes me hopeful that Perriman's final 5 games in a Bucs uniform where he exploded was just a sign that he'd finally started to meet his high potential and will pick up where he left off.

Agreed. Neither might be the most polished route runners but they are two of the fastest guys in the league.

Perriman is a late bloomer. And when they bloom, its a beautiful thing. Trust me, I know firsthand.

Agree.

Making opposing defenses less likely to stuff 8 in the box.  They having to be concerned with speedy wideouts that can take it 50-70 yds...to the House.   Which makes it easier for Jets revamped OL...with Bell...to execute a more effective running game. 

Mims-Perriman-Crowder-Herndon...plus the elite receiving skills of Bell...make Jets passing game...more then just respectable.   

Darnold should be pleased...with the OL upgrades and shiny new weapons. 

Maybe more to come...with tonight's picks.

That's actually Perriman's dad, who looks like he was a hell of an athlete as well. 

I think the common theme so far with Douglas's draft has been athleticism and speed. Davis didn't test at the combine, but he's a track guy who would have likely killed it. On the last, keep your eye on Peoples-Jones, who had one of the highest sparq scores at WR this year.

This draft reminds me of when Pete Carroll first got to the Seahawks and just drafted his “type” of players no matter what. He only drafts tall CB etc

Nice to see JD putting a plan of speed and athleticism in the table, maybe it works maybe it doesn’t but it is sure as hell better than what they JD been doing.

I think it's athleticism and low tendency for penalties.  There are worse things to focus on.

tampa led league is passing yards...    averaged 38 attempts per game over last 5....      he avgd just over 7 targets/per...

make him the #3, mims #1 and crowder slot #2...

It factors in size, height weight. Becton running a 5.1 at his weight is more impressive than ruggs running a 4.27 at his relative size 

And Ruggs has a pretty high RAS score as it is.

I have two things to say to this:

1.  These guys have something else in common.   Other than Becton, they all were at the Senior Bowl.  That could be the link with Savage or a general philosophy.  It could just be a conincidence, but I doubt it.  Particularly with the lack of extra testing this year, they may be leaning on guys they know from the senior bowl. 

2.  Zuniga was not the best pass rusher.  "TE Chase Harrell (9.96)"  worked out as a DE/EDGE and supposedly looked smooth.  Look for someone to pick him up late and try to develop him into an EDGE while he plays special teams.

Jachai polite had a bunch of sacks in in his final year in college but had a low RAS score.

That was my hope...that the lightbulb went on in his head.  Now he has this new chance.  Like he's a 1st round pick again. Reborn!  Designated to start.  Perriman has an opportunity to make his mark...and put his signature on his career.  Make some $$hay too.

Alton Robinson (who is still available) is 4th among the edges.
