Who knows anything about this guy? Is he fast? Pass catcher? Bruiser?

Strengths
  • Prototypical size of today's NFL running back
  • High-character, hard worker on and off the field
  • Gets behind the wheel and patiently steers lead blockers into their targets
  • Plays with decisive eyes and sticky feet for sharp gather and cut
  • Foot twitch to bound back and forth around early penetration
  • Understands the physical nature of his job
  • Low center of gravity allows for additional balance to defeat arm tackles
  • Intuitive near goal line with ability to spot routes to pay dirt
  • Experience as core special-teams player in 2018
  • Rarely drops it as pass-catcher and has potential to get better as blocker
Weaknesses
  • Tends to run with monotonous tempo, allowing linebackers to find him
  • Lacks desired burst to accelerate both inside and outside
  • Early shake tends to dissipate once he hits second level
  • Drops head and plows forward prematurely rather than re-setting rush path at times
  • Takes on excessive amount of contact for his carry total
  • Still training eyes to recognize protection duties
  • Needs more technique work before he can be trusted to protect his quarterback

Well I for one think it’s fantastic that we loaded up on 3rd and 4th founders just so we could stock up on positions that we already had.

Yeah, we don't need a backup RB with starter upside.  Bell will just play every down next year.

Being a Jet GM means picking a safety is mandatory.   Why not pick as many O linemen as are available?  The best out there in each round.

The Jets should have drafted nothing but WR and OL this year. They ignored both positions for a ******* decade. You can land some incredibly high value players at those positions in the mid rounds on the cheap. The Jets solution? Draft positions they have spent all their draft and salary capital on for the last ten years.

Time warp. This franchise is a ******* time warp.

Lamical Perine tweets before Day 3 of NFL Draft; Kirk Herbstreit praises him on ESPN

As we enter Day 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft, Florida RB Lamical Perine has yet to hear his name called. However, that should change today, as Perine could end up being a Round 4 pick. Where will he end up? That’s the big question now.On Saturday morning, Perine sent out a simple 1-word tweet, indicating he’s being patient as his draft wait continues:

Patience ..,
Perine does have a big supporter in the media world, though, as ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit praised him during a TV appearance on Saturday morning.

“I think Lamical Perine is going to make somebody very happy,” Herbstreit said on College GameDay.

Several teams have a need at running back, so we’ll see which squad decides Perine is the right fit for them.

Um, yeah. RBs get injured. RBs need plays off to stay fresh. RBs get old fast and you need a RB to groom to replace Bell.

Not a position to Target in early rounds. With 3 picks in 4th round it's a smart move.

He won't be replacing Bell anytime... he just a change of pace back... he'll never be the featured back... & I'm okay with that... change of pace backs are Very Important... especially in gase's offense.

I've seen Perine in person at the Swamp a couple of times.

Not a great athlete, just OK.

The positive is he is versatile and makes good choices.  He gets what is blocked.   Good in pass pro.  Perine just isnt going to make something out of nothing.

Plenty of very good WRs  and OL available.
