Jets Roster Update ***** November 9 *****

I’m a little confused that the Jets have an open roster spot and practice squad spot right now.

I'm guessing they want to see how injured players respond in practice before deciding how to fill that final roster spot. Might want to use it on a WR, RB, OL or ILB depending on who can’t play this week.

Wide Receiver   (4)

  • 82 - Jamison Crowder 5'9" 177 Duke (WR)
  • 19 - Breshard Perriman 6"2" 215 Central Florida (WR)
  • 10 - Braxton Berrios  5'9" 190  Miami (FL) (WR/KR)
  • 15 - Chris Hogan 6'1 210 Monmouth (WR)

Are there really only 4 WRs on the current Active roster?

Yup. Started with 7, then the Smiths went onto IR and Mims followed them this week.

They did elevate Josh Malone for the game last week, and might do the same this week or add him to the 53 permanently.

Yes Sir. 4 on the practice squad so that gives us some short term flexibility

Did you know that the Jets only had 3 WRs take live snaps in the game on Sunday?  One of them (Hogan) wasn't on the team 2 months ago.  The other (Perriman) is also new to the team and didn't practice for 2-3 weeks leading up to the game.

What we had out there on offense Sunday was a disgrace, especially considering the 2nd half RB depth chart of RB1 Frank Gore and RB2 Josh Adams.

I didn't realize that. Explains why we were so run heavy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Where will the IR guys who are now designated to return going to go?  How soon do they need to be either put on the active roster or moved to the PS?

There could be some serious roster roulette about to take place if they want to get Mims, Vyncint Smith, Zuniga, Maulet and others up to the active roster in the next week or two.

(** Was on active roster for a time, waived, then added back to PS, not sure if PS Call Ups reset)

Did we ever get any clarity on the Call Up rule if a player has been released and then brought back?  Do we know if it reset?
