Jets have he worst roster in the division by far

Be better than this. You made me stop reading after the first sentence.

You've never once heard me say I "hate" Darnold… or any other player. I've made it a point to mention several times there isn't a single player in ANY sport, on ANY team that I hate. I have too much respect for the talent these guys have, and the work it took them to get where they are.

Don't take the fact that I've not been as impressed with Darnold as you and a lot of others here, and use it as a license to put words like that in my mouth.

Then read your posts before you hit submit.  They scream "I dont like/hate Darnold"   You don't actually have to say it in those words.

Just my observation

I get this feeling that Pats may give Cam a try...

as for the list of players...

we made some improvement...   our RBs are slow...      our LBs are slow...  the most explosive DL is a rookie.

we'll see

Silly original post. If you are trying to look objective, try not to be so obviously biased. Instead, just start: As a Bills fan.....blah, blah, blah....

Let's revisit again at your rankings:

QB: Jets (by a substantial amount), Bills, Pats?, Phins? (last two will be lunch!).

TE: Jets (by a mile), Bills, Pats, Phins

WR: Bills (by a mile), Jets, Phins, Pats (This is the Bills largest edge)

RB: Bills, Jets, Phins, Pats (Top 3 almost even now that Nell has an Oline)

OLine: Crap shoot, but I have it Pats, Bills, Jets, Phins

But the Defensive, oh our defense--will be sick:

LBs: Jets, Bills, Pats, Phins (Jets by a mile)

DLine: Bills, Jets (close behind; better in the run game), Pats, and Phins

CB: Bills, Pats, Phins, Jets (let's wait and see here??)

Safeties: Jets (by a mile), Pats, Bills, Phins.

Overall D Jets, Bills (very close behind), Pats, Phins

No.  Jet's have a far more effective roster now because they completely rebuilt their offensive line.  Whether they lose to another team in the division remains to be seen.  Any Guven Sunday baby!

We had the Bills beaten in Week 1, Darnold almost died and Mosley was lost for the season, we still had them cornered until late in the game.  Dolphins and Bengals games were on Sam as he was trying to make it back from injury.  Both were winless at the time.  The December Jets wipe the floor with those two teams.

SAR I

The Jets lost to the Bengals in December.

They also played the Dolphins in December and won by 1 point, so no you did not wipe the floor with them.

The only unit the Jets have that is worst in the division is: Cornerback. Last year you could say OL but there’s too much unknown with the Dolphins and Jets after this off season to say they’re the worst. Plus if they end up slightly above average they’re better than Buffalo’s OL.

The division is up for grabs. If Sam stays healthy and the OL gels fast enough we’re gonna win it.

They also have the worst WRs.

Edelman is better than anyone on the Jets, Sanu equal to Crowder and N'Keal > Mims until proven otherwise. Quincy even if healthy, isn't enough to change this. Parker is better than anyone on the Jets, Preston Williams is a stud and Albert Wilson make a good WR group. Bills are just better.

Also it's highly unlikely the Jets O-line will be better than the Bills. The Bills still have a better LG, C, RG, and RT. The Bills LT is also very good. The Jets O-line is still a weakness but it is improved.

Is this Edelman with steroids and getting away with pushing off DBs every play?  Then yes.  Otherwise no

I like Sanu.  He’s a Rutgers Alum.  That said he’s an ok possession receiver and not much more he and crowder are the same thing

N’Keal over Mims?  That’s cute

Oh and Stidham and Hoyer both gargle balls

Edelman is nice but him and Sanu don’t gel because they work the same area. N’keal Harry isn’t even Breshad Perriman. Heck Perriman was better in 4 games than Sanu was last year. I don’t think there’s much difference between the two WR corps but the Jets have more upside and a better QB.

Probably because you suck off Baker and Allen routinely, while constantly talking down of Darnold - the qb of the team you (allegedly) route for?

You can just say you don't like Darnold. There's nothing wrong with that. Might as well call a spade a spade

I heard an interview on ESPN radio podcast with Marty Lyons and he put it very well when asked about Sam.

“I like Sam and think he’s the long term answer at QB, but its year 3 and put up or shut up time”.

We are all optimstic about Darnold right now, and most recognize his combination of ability, youth, and learning curve. I can guaranty you the narrative amongst Jets will change if he doesn’t show improvement next year.

I think the majority of NFL fans/national media have already written him off as another Jets bust solely based off the Monday night disaster. What’s frustrating to me is that I’m still not sure if they have put enough talent around him to properly evaluate him.

Safeties: Jets (by a mile), Pats, Bills, Phins.

Overall D Jets, Bills (very close behind), Pats, Phins

QB - Darnold is not substantially better than Allen or Fitzpatrick. Fitz outplayed him with less talent. Allen outplayed him with more talent but still outplayed him. Even if Darnold is better, its not by much.

TE - Mike Gesicki is the best and most accomplished TE in the AFCE right now. Herndon has the potential to be better, but until proven otherwise it's Gesicki.

WR - The Phins and Pats have better WRs than the Jets. You probably weren't paying attention, but Preston Williams is a monster and Parker led the AFC in yards and they still have Albert Wilson. Edelman + Sanu is better than Crowder + Perriman, and until proven otherwise N'Keal >Mims.

LB - You can't say Jets by a mile when the Bills have a top 5 LB duo, who never come off the field since they are also amazing in coverage.

CB - The Jets are miles behind the division mainly due to their outside corners. The best CB on the Jets might not even be a top 10 CB in the division. At best Desir or Poole would be the 8th best CB in the division behind Gilmore, White, Howard, Byron, Mccourtey, JC Jackson, and Jonathan Jones.

Safeties - I'm fine with the ranking, but how can the Jets be miles ahead when the Pats and Bills both have a top 5 Safety duo? You can make a argument that the Jets have the 3rd best Safety duo because they aren't as good against the pass which is more important.

Did you really say that overall, the Jets have a better defense than the Bills and Pats?

My gut tells me that Miami having a better roster is certainly debatable. They didn't have much to offer last season. Their draft was pretty impressive but I don't believe that gives them a clear advantage over us. However, there's no doubt that NE and Buffalo are head and shoulders better teams. They have better rosters and they're better coached. The Jets are definitely one of the very least talented rosters in the entire league. That's just a fact that people are going to have to realize. The way I see it, the Jets will win one game in the division against Miami. Unfortunately because Mac did so much damage before he was fired in many ways it's like the Jets are starting over again.

This is pretty much where I’m at. Darnold will have to be far and away the best QB in the division for the Jets to have a chance.

That's because Sanu got traded mid season. You also ignore his entire career where he has put up similar numbers to Crowder for years.

Saying Crowder would put up 1000 yards and 9 TDs is foolish. Why are you giving him 1 TD per game missed when he doesn't even average a TD per game?

Also one of those games was against NE so his production would hardly change. Actually with Darnold the 2nd time against NE, he went from 25 yards to 26 yards lol.

Do you think 5 games erases how invisible Perriman has been for his 5 year career.
