I went back and watched Perriman, he still needs to be more precise on route running but I do not think the last 5 games were an aberration. Plus the Jets should be able to abuse the middle of the field in 11 personnel. Imagine 11 personnel, Mims and Vyncint wide left Perriman mid right, Herndon or Grffin in line weak. Mims on the GO, Smith skinny pose/slant , Perrminan slant and go. How does the defense defend the numbers? As long as 5 man protection holds up the seam to TE and swing route to Bell on either side should be open all day. If they play Tampa 2 the draw to Bell should be a guaranteed 6-7 yards and against single high you will have two 1 on 1s Don't under-estimate the transformational impact of swapping a #4 receiver with a #1 even a rookie one. 6
choon328
Mims will have an additional 20+ receptions just from screens next year. He'll probably end up with 50-60 if he stays healthy.

Exciting to think about. And don't underestimate the value and power of protection for Sam. These guys we are sending out there are fast! Add Crowder's shiftiness into that mix and we really may have something here. I believe in Sam Darnold and think he has overproduced his situation so I lean that way here. I can get why some people are not sold yet, but I'm in the believer camp. Adding Mims and Perriman to the WR group and a protected Sam Darnold can develop into something special. And who the hell knows what Doctson can bring to the table. I see him as battling with V Smith and Berrios, but he's here. I read somewhere where the idea was presented that adding Perriman and Doctson essentially gives JD and the Jets two additional first rdrs. I like that. Don't necessarily buy it 100% but I like it. Perriman is a stud and has just taken more time than was presumed to Gert it going. He's going to be a nice compliment to Crowder and Mims.

Scoop24
Some people people Really thought we where gonna take 4.6+ spd WRs even after he said this. I knew Gase love his speedsters at WR. Seem Douglas loves the same thing. Which is actually good for us cause then we won’t draft kerley types anymore.

Certainly nothing to slam JD about signing him except for people who are still butt-hurt over Robby Anderson.
