I can name that tune in 8 linemen, George

Becton

Lewis

McGovern

GVR

Edoga

expensive Swing tackle Fant (he's not really a right tackle you guys)

Backup Center Andrews (GVR can slide over as well)

Developmental Guard in Clark

Cut Harrison, Cut Winters, Cut McDermott

sign Kaufusi to the taxi squad and Leo K if he is still eligible)

I decided not to follow your instructions and voted 10 instead of 9. (Pisses my wife off when I do that).

Also, went with Winters/McDermott instead of Andrews.

1. Becton

2. Lewis

3. McGovern

4. Van Rotten

5. Fant

6. Edoga

7. Harrison

8. Winters

9. Clark

10. McDermott

I still think Winters makes the team after he accepts a paycut. Unless we're looking to make another move this off-season and need the cap space, he shouldn't be cut. With Van Roten signed neither Lewis or Winters should pushed themselves to play through INJs anymore and stink it up like in the past. Rather roll into the season who 3 experience guards then just two. Plus he's the lone longtime vet returning. If I'm overvaluing his leadership/veteran presence then ok, release him.

I picked Winters over Conor McDermott who only has two career starts  and it must of been for us last season.

Most NFL Teams will probably keep 9 offensive linemen on their 55 man roster. Some might keep 8, some might even keep 10, but let's say 9.

Who will be the 9 players on the Jets opening day roster?

Mann active as a hybrid punter/kicker should open up one slot.

This is the hardest, most complex poll, you've ever done. So many variables. My final choice was Harrison/Winters. Went with Harrison.

Precisely. Seems like it will come down to Harrison or Winters. Now, seems like they really like Winters BUT he is constantly injured and cutting him saves a ton of money. He's also not THAT good when healthy. Harrison is cheap, maybe not the best player but you know what, last season he put in the WORK and earned a starting spot despite not getting it. I think he outworks Winters for the last spot, even if Winters stays healthy. On top of that Jets save 7 mil. in cap space.

OR they just carry 10 O-linemen. Considering how many got inured last year, it would not be the craziest thing for them to do.

Becton, Clarke, Edoga, Fant, Lewis, McGovern, Van Roten are locks.

The last two spots are tough. I’d give one to Andrews and if money is not a concern, I’d give the other spot to Winters. Both those guys are better than Harrison and McDermott. Money will likely be a factor though in which case I’d pick McDermott over Harrison and Winters.

Agree.

I had the same final decision....those were my last two.  I kept Winters with the idea that McGovern, Van Roten and Andrews all have Center experience.  But this could easily go either way.  My 9....

OT - Becton, Fant, Edoga, Clark*

OG - Lewis, Winters, Van Roten, Andrews

C - McGovern

* Could move to OG

Question - Is that enough depth at OT?

And don’t guys have to be exposed after they are cut before they can be on PS?

well yeah... therein lies the risk.  But that risk last throughout PS.  Any team can come in and scoop him as long as he stays on the active roster, I think.  I don't know if any rules changes w/new CBA.

To answer the depth question, maybe should change one of our answers to “ player not on team yet.”?

Good point.

I think Joe Douglas sits tight until we start to see players getting released from other teams.  If he's looking for an OT in the category of Edoga he might just find one (or better) after cuts.  We just had something like 20 new OTs enter the League last week.

Anyone think there's a good chance that Clark could start the year on the practice squad or would he get snagged by another tam after he is cut (before being signed to the PS)?

We didn't take Clark # 129 overall just to risk losing him that easily.

No on the Practice Squad for Clark.
