Hey JS do you know what the deal is with Reddick being you live out there? I absolutely loved him coming out but haven't heard much about him since he was drafted and now they declined his 5th year option.

Yes.  They've had him play multiple positions over the years.  Inside LB, outside guy, even moved him to Safety periodically.  He's essentially a good football player with a good athletic profile....but without a true home position and a clear role.  Kind of the classic "tweener" which is a little funny because they just took Isaiah Simmons who is a supreme athlete and will be played at OLB in AZ....but has some "tweener" aspects to him as a Safety.  Reddick has also had 3 head coaches in 3 years (Arians, Wilks, and now Kingsbury)....and the Cardinals switched to 3-4 under Vance Joseph last year.

My personal opinion is that his first few years are EXACTLY what you'd design if you wanted to confuse and ruin a player who already wasn't a clear fit for a particular position.  Imagine having 3 head coaches, two systems (3-4, 4-3) and playing 3 different positions.

I wonder if these number ones bombing - or at least not being worth their options - has anything to do with the trend of college players getting drafted their junior years rather than senior years. It's not approaching the NCAA basketball "one and done" talent depletion levels, but maybe some of these juniors look better because they are playing fewer seniors, and look good playing other teenagers instead of grown men. Then they get to the NFL, playing against grown ups, with one less year of experience and personal physical growth to boot. Perhaps some never catch up.

I remember really liking Lattimore coming out

A lot of people liked Lattimore but were worried he had an injury history ... this was at the time when we were still reeling from Dee "Glass" Milliner having 'replaced' Revis.

I'm pretty sure we would have to sweeten the pot for a trade like that.

Throw in Adams?

:P

How could the Jaguars turn down having the best Safety duo in the league?
