Agreed. Gregg is probably the best coach on the staff. He gets the best out of his guys regardless of talent level. We should do everything we can to keep him coaching the defense for as long as he still wants to coach. He fielded a top 10 D last year without cornerbacks. With Mosley coming back, and more depth, we should be just as good, if not improved.

Which is why it's absurd to automatically bash the Quincy Wilson trade.

If it doesn't pan out so be it, but if GW thinks he can do something with the guy, he's earned the chance to try . . .

This guy liked him as well.  Joe D did extremely well finding value in the draft and the UDFA.

STRENGTHS
Bryce is your sleeper pass rusher in this draft and his play reminds me a lot of Bears Khalil Mack. He is strong and has excellent explosion to the play. His quickness off the ball and explosiveness is unique, to the few true pass rushers at the next level. He has quick feet and has enough flexibility to make that turn at the top of his pass rush and sack the quarterback. Bryce is excellent at stopping the run and shedding blocks to make tackles in the hole. He has a high football IQ and shows leadership skills through his play on the field working well with his teammates. Like I stated before he is a sleeper pass rusher with the explosiveness similar to Kahlil Mack.

CONCERNS
Teams will be concerned about his size although it is equal to Khalil, the quality of competition, once again equal, stats are comparable but all that means nothing. Turn on the film and watch it. Bryce is stuck right now in some sort of loop of marketing/media mediocrity and as of this writing hasn’t even been invited to the Senior Bowl. He has been invited to the Shrine game and it would not surprise me to see him eventually get invited to the Senior Bowl. His size will be an issue at first and teams will be interested in his ability to play one of the linebacker positions and this will affect his draft status. That being said, every team he goes up against has to account for him and double team him.

BOTTOM LINE 1.94
When Khalil came out I gave him a second-round grade because I thought for sure, teams were going to try and make him a linebacker instead of attacking the line of scrimmage. That will be an issue for Bryce also, and the truth is he also needs to attack the line of scrimmage to be effective and impacting. He is very smart and has all the tools to be an impact player with some more technique work, an impact pass rusher too. Right now, he is a sleeper but the truth is I don’t believe he will be by the time we get to the draft. As far as I’m concerned, Bryce is one of the top pass rushers in this draft and the fact that he plays the run as well as he rushers the passer should make everyone excited about him as I am. All I can say is go ahead, turn on the film, I dare you to tell me this kid is not an impact player. Watch how Penn State doubles him and runs away from him in their bowl game. Watch him be stout against the run and not give up his assignment just to get stats and sacks. Go ahead, I dare you. Remember size matters when it comes to evaluating players for the draft but not when it comes to impact on the field. Impact comes in all sizes.

GW got his guy.  Gave Huff a plan on how he was going to be used.  I get the impression CS had serious input in acquiring these players...especially for UDFAs.

Many have said Huff could've gone somewhere in mid-late rounds.  Another speedy versatile player.  Good chance he makes the team as situational pass rusher and on STs.

That's what he wrote.  His profiles usually has some good sleepers but the main reason I like his profiles more than others is he's usually more critical.  Huff is obviously one of the those sleepers.  FTR...he's also very high on Lawrence Cager.  We can hope.

This is the kind of guy that will become a fan favorite like a Victor Green.  He looks like a man amongst boys out there and he willl show up on every defensive play.  If Williams already has a plan for him to be successful that is awesome and amazing coaching.  If you are telling me we got a guy that compares to Khalil Mack as an undrafted free agent....Genius!

I shouldn't get all of you going, but if Gase doesn't work out Jets should just make GW the HC since the Browns saw he was doing that job and the were 5-3 and should have never let him go.

There was one where I'm asking where is 55? and there he comes bursting thru LOS from the inside.  Highlight reels are fun, but with this one  I think this guy should have been drafted.  Between him and Zuniga, I see a lot of 4-3 looks coming our way.

I know some people on this forum are pretty tough on our players but I want to say - for the record - that if Huff becomes the next Khalil Mack, I'd honestly be okay with it.

Having Mosley and the new Ravens LB in theMiddle of the field with Adams in support allows GW to dial up some interesting pressure schemes. I really believe teams are  going to have a tough time running on us this season. If QW steps up his game along with Shepherd and Fatusaki and McClendon continues to seal the middle of the line, we’re looking good! Bring the pressure up the middle and off the edge

Keep bringing hungry players with "chip on their shoulders".  Those that withhold vendettas and are likely to stay loyal to their parent teams.

Do we really know how tall he is?  Weight seems consistently reported in the 253-255 range.

I thought he was comparable to a guy like Alex Highsmith.

I thought they would both go in the early-mid 4th area. Instead, Pittsburgh takes Highsmith with a 3rd round comp pick and Huff goes undrafted.

I could easily see him beating out a guy like Luvu for a roster spot and contributing as a situational passrusher.

I don’t think anybody is getting “lathered up”.  I don’t see the problem complimenting GW with the job he did last year.
