When a Hall Of Fame running back without a Super Bowl ring comes to the New York Jets it tells you two things:

1.  He believes a Jets Super Bowl run is happening in the next 1-2 years.

2.  He respects and wants to play for Adam Gase.

Or in a league built on speed, no one else wanted him. This doesn’t make the Jets better. He’s a downgrade from Powell. Period.

Weren’t there rumors gore disliked Gase? Doesn’t seem to be the case

That was screwball Jay Ajayi.  Had his best year with Gase.  Gase dumped him, now I think he's out of football.  Gore loved him

In New York, Gore will be reunited with head coach Adam Gase, who served as the Dolphins head coach during the running back’s stint in Miami. Gase was also an offensive assistant in San Francisco during Gore’s run with the team. In fact, ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe tweets that Gase tried to recruit the veteran last offseason.

Gore will instantly become the second running back on the depth chart behind Le’Veon Bell. The Jets are also rostering the likes of Kenneth Dixon, Josh Adams, and fourth-round rookie La’Mical Perine.

Dependable.  Reliable.  Experienced.  Locker room leader.  Extremely hard worker.

These are the things you want in a backup player.  Someone the young guys can look up to.  Think of him not as a weapon, but as the Josh McCown calming influence to the young WRs and RBs on the squad.
