Neither will Enunwa. Add back our 9 players we drafted this year, who will all be signed through 2021, and that's 32. Add in 8 2021 draft picks, and that leaves 15 roster spots to be filled with some combination of UDFAs and FAs (resigning our own expiring contracts, like Jenkins and Poole, or bringing in players from other teams). The financials of Fant's contract make it so that the deal he signed is essentially a 1-year "prove it" deal. If he does, great. Crowder may well still be Darnold's favorite target entering 2021, but we're not keeping him at that cap number. A cut and re-sign is certainly possible. He's only 24 years old, and is under contract for $850k in 2021. I'll actually be shocked if he's not at the very least in training camp next year. There's no reason to cut him. 4 minutes ago, Jetsfan80 said: The financials of Fant's contract make it so that the deal he signed is essentially a 1-year "prove it" deal. If he does, great. Crowder may well still be Darnold's favorite target entering 2021, but we're not keeping him at that cap number. A cut and re-sign is certainly possible. I understand how Fant's contract is structured, but I'm certainly hoping that he works out. I'd rather have a decent OT on the roster for $10M/year than that $10.5M in cap space looking for an OT. I could see Crowder signing an extension. If he's the Jets leading receiver again I can't see them being too upset about his current price tag. I will disavow anything positive I've said about Joe Douglas to date if that happens.
docdhc
If Fant plays well this year that 7.4 million will be a bargain. I agree Crowder is not getting 10.5.
British Jet
Luckily, Joe Douglas is a ******* genius. We’ll be fine.
