Flacco wasn't that good back then. Most people (even many Baltimore fans) felt he was holding the team back. He really only had 1 lightening in a bottle type run the year they won it all, but that's really it.

We don't do any better with Flacco then we did with Sanchez.

I can say definitively that I don't know.

"Despite rather pedestrian regular season statistics and no Pro Bowl berths as of the 2019 NFL season, Flacco has proven himself as a better performer in the postseason, having established a career playoff record of 10–5 and holding the record for most postseason road victories by a quarterback with seven"

i think our odds woulda been slightly better...    statistically significantly better? it might just barely meet that, depending on what is defined as statiscally significant? 5% ? 10%?

Unless of course he had that playoff run in either 09 or 10 with the Jets

Then again if we're changing history maybe he has a 10 year run with the Jets

Leonardo Dicaprio Kinda GIFLOL 😎

Flacco was not that good. He wasn't  a difference maker. That SB team was stacked.

without looking it up, name one offensive play maker other than Ray Rice that Joe Flacco played with during his career with the Ravens.

Now some of the more knowledgeable posters may get some but for the majority here, I'm guessing not.

Who knows

Sanchez played well overall in both of those games though. It would have been nice if the offense was able to at least move the ball a little bit in the first half in Pittsburgh but he wasn't the issue in those games. Hard to say we win with Flacco.

He would have been out of the league by 2014.

REX would have ruined the kid.

With a TOP coach, top GM that built the team around him. We would have thrown him to the wolves and drafted safeties, linemen and left him exposed.

Flacco was awesome in his 2012 SB run but early on Sanchez was a much better postseason QB so no.  What stopped the Jets from winning in those years was the D not showing up in AFC Championship Games

Flacco won a playoff game going 4-10 for 34 yards.

The real question is do we win a SB with Sanchez and the Ravens D?  I think so.

And Flacco threw for 240 and 3TDs at Foxboro vs the cheating Patriots and Belichick’s vaunted defense

your point?

That was his SB season in 2012, we were discussing him with us in the years we made the AFC Championship Game.  Flacco wasn't very good the first few playoff runs, mark was.

You're literally the same guy who gives Sanchez credit for beating the Chargers going 12-23 for 100 yards.

The reality is the 2008-10 Ravens and 2009-10 Jets were mirror images of each other -- Hell, in 2009 and 2010 the Flacco led Ravens ultimately lost to the same teams the Jets lost to just one round earlier.

Sanchez didn't attempt a pass after they went up 17-7 and non a close game he made HUGE plays.  Baltimore scored 33 in a blowout with Flacco completing 4 passes.

Joe and mark (and Eli) were similar, Baltimore and NYG kept adding talent for their young QBs and the Jets did not.  That was the difference.

No, the difference is that Eli Manning and Joe Flacco were much better QBs who played for a long time and had successful careers and Mark Sanchez was never good and is now out of football.

I don’t know if Mark was “very good” in playoff games.  He was good and certainly better in playoff games on the road then he would be in a regular season home game facing the bills or dolphins

like I said before Mark was the rare player who was actually better in an intensely high pressure situation
