YES... BOOSE.... Wasn't he a very high draft pick ??? Second rounder, I think, no ?

He was Hugh Douglas.  That fat **** traded Hugh Douglas for Boose.  Well really he traded Hugh Douglas for a 2nd and the Casey Dailey pick. Then he traded down in the second, got Boose, Kevin Williams, and Eric Bateman.  Then he paid lip service to the importance of pass rush.

dont forget the legendary Don Boyd Odegard at CB, Dorian Boose or Rick Terry or Ron Faurot on the D line

Right... Odegard.  I remember he was the fastest guy on the roster in the 40 and had ZERO coverage skills to go along with it,

How did Hack not make the list?

Notable ommisions

Johnny  Lame Jone, Bryan Thomas, Vernon Gholston,  Dave Cadigan, Kyle Brady.

JMO, Bryan Thomas and Brady don't belong on an all-time worst PLAYER list.  They definitely belong on an all-time worst DRAFT list considering Ed Reed followed Thomas and Sapp followed Brady.

Since there has been about a thousand threads about putting together the ALL TIME JETS TEAM...

Help me assemble the worst of the worst starters the Jets ever fielded at every position.    I've got a few players in mind, but lots of holes that I'm SURE some in here can help with...

To make the team, the player has to have started for the Jets at least a few games. No obscure players, please

Of course they do.  Shonn Greene was drafted in the 3rd round and got to run behind the best OL in the NFL.  Result?  A paltry 4.1 ypc and a guy who looked like he'd just been shot every time he got up from the pile.

Ward and Townsell, on a yardage per return basis, were 2 of the worst return men in Jets history.  Not good enough for 3rd round picks who brought nothing or very little to the table as WRs.  What return men were drafted higher and disappointed more?  Justin Miller, I suppose, but I put him in the CB pile.

4.1 ypc is absolutely not paltry so I still wouldn't put Shonn Greene on the list.  But I guess I screwed up with Ward and Townsell since I just realized you're evaluating them only in their KR and PR duties (rather than as overall players).

As for Justin Miller, didn't he have a couple of KR TDs?

Yep, Hence why I put him in the CB group, not KR/PR group.

It's not just the YPC, which was indeed paltry given the OL he was paired with.  It's that he offered nothing in the passing game too.

RB is a plug n play position.  Burning an early 3rd rounder on Greene and getting that little productivity sucks.  He also didn't stick on another team after he left.  He had 5 starts over 2 seasons for the Titans and then was out of the league.

Shonn Green was a lot of fun to watch during his rookie year.  He had some big runs and was a great 1-2 punch with T Jones that helped get us into the playoffs.

I take issue with some of these:

Shonne Green had some moments and a few big ones in the playoffs.

Vlad Ducasse was in the league for like 10 years,

Quinton coples has something like 16-17 career sacks.

Justin miller was a pro bowl kick returner one year if i am not mistaken.

I said it in another thread, to me there is a difference between a disappointment and a bust.

Calling him the "2" in a 1-2 punch his rookie year would be an exaggeration.  Thomas Jones had 331 carries in 2009.  Greene had 108.

Ducasse may not have been a bust elsewhere, but he was a bust for us.  A 2nd round pick should generate a lot more for the franchise that drafted him.

Yes, Coples had 16.5 sacks for the Jets.  He was also of the league after 4 years.  Not good for a mid-1st rounder.  Who would you pick over Coples at DE?

The first chapter of Boys Will Be Boys, Jeff Pearlman’s 2008 look at the Cowboys of the 1990s, is titled “Scissors to the Neck.”  It tells the story of the time that Irvin, yes, took scissors to the neck of a teammate.
