What, precisely, about this situation would lead you to believe Jamal will play good soldier and play out the rest of his contract + franchise year with the Jets?

It's way more likely it turns into a Jamal Ramsey situation where he bitches, insults the management in public, misses time due to 'injury' and 'illness'.

Money?

I won’t argue too push who’s better. It’s reasonable to think Yannick is more impactful all else equal.

But a deal of Adams and Yannick straight up doesn’t make sense for the Jets giving they’re situations. And Yannick is looking for $20 million a year. I wouldn’t pay that much if he were a free agent. These edge guys are too expensive. It’s gone beyond the value they bring to the field.

I wouldn't trade Adams for any player that is not controllable for 2+ years no matter the position.

I'd cut him loose for a 1st and a 3rd.

I would also take a 1st and a WR (like Michael gallup from dallas). This is more or less what i think he's worth. At some point, you have to weigh the cost of keeping him relative to what you're getting, and a disgruntled player isn't really worth anything from a GM's perspective. So the compensation could realistically be a lot lesser than this (see the Hopkins trade a few months ago).

This is probably what other franchises are hoping for, a garage-sale deal on a disgruntled player forcing himself out.

What is our walk-away point with Jamal Adams?

Boy, we really needed another what is Adams worth in trade thread

No, we've gone down this road. No more holding onto players who don't want to be here or don't live up to potential hoping things will change. Trade them and use the resources to get better. It's like a failed marriage in that you don't hang around thinking that suddenly the parties involved will just make it work due to magic and stuff.

No one expects Jamal and the Jets to "make it work".  But taking 50 cents on the dollar isn't a smart decision either.  We need to maximize what we get for him in a trade.

If teams don't meet us at, say, a 75 cents on the dollar level....then Jamal will have to play or give up 40K per day/week or whatever it is.  Period.  Dumping him for a lot less just makes no sense.  He's under contract for 2 more years and can't do anything to force the trade to happen.

You know what this forum needs? Another Jamal Adams thread. Lol. Why do people create new threads about the same player and slightly alter the subject matter?

It's not like there's anything else to talk about sports-wise.

I'm not interested in a fire sale either and I've pointed out previously that other teams are going to have to bid against each other for him. However, if he doesn't want to be here the longer the Jets wait the less they will get in return. I hear what you are saying though as he has no leverage other than not playing and I'm sure he has bills to pay like everyone else.

Because what else is he going to do? play bad and ruin his chances of getting a big contract or sitting out and getting fined?

Kim says right now she thinks Jamal will play this season for the Jets.

Honestly he has zero leverage.  The Jets have three more years Of control over him so all the bitching and moaning Jamal dies serves no purpose for him

Get a list of teams the beotch doesn't want to go to and trade him to one of those...
Better to trade him to one of the worst teams in the league. The draft picks will be worth much more. Why trade him to a contender so we get the 30th pick or something? We control his ass for the next 3 years; make sure we get a top 10 pick for him.
This is one of the more intelligent ideas I've seen around here in a while.

lol.  Coming from the guy who's been in the "2 firsts OR a 1st and a 2nd or he shouldn't get traded" crowd, this means a lot.

What are you talking about?  I still feel that way...  I bet JD does as well.  If instagramz and twats get you up in arms that's your deal.

JD isn't going to crumble because Jamal gave him the equivalent of an angry emoji.

If they had traded him during the season last year for a 1+ to the Cowboys, they'd have Lamb + another player and I guarantee the Jets would've been better off.

The Jets played it all wrong. He should've been long gone before this. Any idiot could have seen this coming.

^^^^^ This guy gets it.
