A friend of mine is big on a drink called a Highball

Seagrams 7 or VO and ginger ale with a few cherries.

Also soothes the stomach.

Geez.  This takes me back to the 60s with my parents drinking highballs and whiskey sours.  Most people have highball glasses in their homes without even knowing they're called that.

Ginger ale is the barman's universal mixer.

Want to make a quick tasty mixed drink but lack all the fancy smancy mixers, liquors and sundries?

One Liquor + Ginger Ale and maybe a piece of fruit garnish = Win.

Dark and Stormy (Rum based).

Bourbon & Ginger (Bourbon, also Rye & Ginger is great!)

Scotch & Ginger (yes, it's solid, stick with Blended)

Gin & Ginger

Even Vodka and Ginger (not a fav of mine, but it's palatable I suppose).

Love mixing with sweetners such as Cointreau, Amaretto, Disaronno, etc. Most people aren’t fans. I generally hate all things sweet, but done properly, they can open up a lot of flavors in the main spirit.

My go to easy mix:

- 2 parts Bulleit Rye

- 1/2 part Cointreau

- 2 dashes angostura bitters

- a big chunk of ice

This is my first run with this brew - haven’t immediately loved a beer on the first couple sips like this since I first tried a Jai Alai 3 or 4 years ago.

Everything from Nod Hill is money. If you can get your hands on any of it, definitely do.

Never seen that in the store before but it might be there. I don't usually like IPAs or go looking for them. If I happen to notice it I'll pick it up though just to try.
