Mt Rushmore of QBs. Name your Top 4 NFL QBs ever.

Recommended Posts

Just like the thread says, name your Top 4 QBs. The way I did it was I imagined my team needing to win one game. The most important game ever, and thought who I’d want to be my QB.

Here’s my list.

1. Brady

2. Montana

3. Marino

4.Rothlisberger

Unitas Montana Marino Favre

They played when Defense was still a thing, and established the mold for QBs to come.

The guys before them played such a different game, they didn't matter.

Namath is a HOF'er, but not enough to be there.

And **** Brady.

Your hatred of Brady is so pure, it’s a beautiful thing. ?

Stop overrating Marino, lifetime loser. Rodgers is a better pure thrower than Marino and a SB champion.

You’ve already been disqualified for not following the rules.

Pleas refrain from making negative comments about other people’s selections.

Thank You,

The OP

otto graham, johnny U, namath, mahommes.  i will not give brady a break no matter how many superbowls he's been involved with.  and while i was thinking about montana and marino, i don't think those guys had way more talent than the guys who came before.  namath is there because he was the qb of the most important superbowl.

Otto Graham definitely worthy. Mahomes may be someday, certainly on pace.

Your list is fine, and this is all subjective, but I’m curious.

would you apply that same logic, and put Matt Snell and George Sauer Jr. on your list of Top 4 RBs and WRs?

Mine is very similar. As of today, take out Brady and sub Wilson for Big Ben.

Peyton, Rodgers, Elway, Big Ben.

Ask me again 10 years from now and I’m positive Mahomes will be #1, the next three will slide down a spot each, and Big Ben will fall off.

By his logic, Terry Bradshaw should be on Mt Rushmore.

I thought we were past the rings argument when it came to Marino.  Guess not.

Your first mistake was using the words “his logic”, 80.

@greenwichjetfan and a few others have mentioned Mahomes, and I agree he looks like he’ll eventually be on a lot of our lists.

Im wondering what people’s thoughts are about Lamar Jackson. He’s won an MVP already in his first two years. A lot of people here bring up the fact his career could be cut short because of his running ability.

Does anyone think he could have a career similar to Mahomes?

I am going to take a different apporach than most.  Since it is so hard to compare players across eras, and any attempt to do so creates bias in favor of the more recent guys who accumulate numbers that would have been impossible to attain in past eras.  I am selecting my four based on the best guys in different eras:

Brady

Montana

Johnny Unitas

Otto Graham
