*RUMOR* 49ers and Seahawks trying to aquire Jamal Adams, Cowboys unlikely to make a push at this time.

Nothing has changed since Oct.  Either a kings ransom or extension with a preference on extension.

I have no idea if any of it's true, and he certainly wouldn't be the focal point of any deal, but I'd be asking for Penny as a part of a package from the Seahawks.  They don't need him, he doesn't fit their system, but could still be a very good NFL back in my opinion.

What player would they offer? That’s the only way I see Douglas making a deal is with a proven player involved.

Gimme Kittles and we’re good.

Corbin smith??

Based on his Twitter bio, he is semi legitimate.  Looks like he's a beat reporter/blogger for a Seahawks website that is affiliated with Sports Illustrated.  Not exactly Adam Schefter, but probably better than Incarcerated Bob.

@jtheaps9 is Jake Heaps.  That is the guy that was the #1 QB recruit in the country from Washington.  He started at BYU, his parents preference instead of his favored U of Washington and had some success as a freshman.  He got benched as a sophmore and ran off to join Charlie Weis at Kansas.  That was  a predictable disaster and he ran off to Miami where he lost out to true freshman Brad Kaaya.

McCagnan had him in as a UDFA in 2015.  He spent some time in Canada, but he joined the Seahawks for camp and some practice squad time in 2016 and 2017.  Now he is some kind of ESPN Seattle guy.  I don't know what kind of insider sh*t he would have, but he seems like a good guy for the Jets or Seahawks to plant sh*t with.  Be it true or false.

A first a second and Lockett. 🙏

Don't know why this was laughed at by someone.  It's the most likely compensation from Seattle (although I think it would be a 3rd instead of a 2nd).

I would need a 1st plus a player that helps us this year.

Lockett makes a ton of sense. They have DK Metcalf, brought in Dorsett/Olsen and Carroll hates passing the ball.

While the cowboys are in cap hell, the Seahawks can definitely afford to pay Adams especially if they deal Lockett.

And while Lockett is not a #1, he's very solid, reliable and comes at an affordable price tag.

Eh, I suppose?  They currently have a little under $14M in cap space.  Trading Lockett frees up $10M.

Next offseason the following players are due to hit free agency, with $67M in projected cap space:

  • OLB K.J. Wright
  • RB Chris Carson
  • G Mike Iupati
  • CB Shaquill Griffin
  • OLB Bruce Irvin
  • S Bradley McDougald
  • CB Quinton Dunbar
  • RB Carlos Hyde
  • C Joey Hunt
  • DE Benson Mayowa
  • WR Phillip Dorsett
  • WR David Moore
  • TE Greg Olsen
  • TE Jacob Hollister
  • TE Luke Wilson

Throwing my own hat in the rumor mill: from what I've heard (as of a week ago), the Jets still don't intend to trade him unless Douglas is blown away by an offer.  There is some hope that they can sit down and mend this crack in their relationship.

Ive heard the same thing... It really just seems the story with Douglas has not changed at all since the first outburst to now.  He wants to extend Adams and make him a jet for as long as he can, however... if someone absolutely backed up the truck with an offer?  He's not one to pass up a great situation.  Which really has been his stance since precombine.

Would be great to get a haul before the season starts.

Unfortunately, I expect another 2 seasons of this nonsense, before Jamal blows out his knee and he is no longer re-signable or tradeable because Joe D didn’t pull the trigger in ‘19.

I laughed at it because in no way do I see Seattle giving up a 1st, 2nd and a proven borderline Pro-Bowl caliber receiver. That would leave Seattle with Metcalf and a bunch of unproven young receivers?

I just don't see it happening.

I don't know what truly is the correct compensation, but a 1st rounder in 2021 plus a 2nd and 3rd in 2022 does it for me. You accomplish getting rid of the locker room cancer, the ridiculous contract for a guy who doesn't move the needle, and three draft picks.
