Connor McGovern can stabilize a crippling Jets weak spot

The Jets best signing of the offseason.  Talented, young, ascending player at one of the two most critical OLine spots.

I know they said Harrison was ranked 34th, but that surprises me a little bit.  I don't remember him being that bad and he seemed like an upgrade from Kalil.  Maybe it's just because the Jets were going 6-2 with Harrison starting at C?  In any case, the depth at Center seems a little better.  I like Harrison as a backup and I understand that both Greg Van Roten and Josh Andrews (signed from the Colts) have also played Center.  McGovern is the man....but I like the depth too.  I'm guessing that it will be hard for both Harrison and Andrews to make the team.  Andrews might get the nod due to his flexibility at both OG and C.

I don't think Gase/JD would have begged Kalil out of retirement and then stuck with him when he was clearly toast if Harrison were any good.

JD got dragged around here for the Kalil signing, when the blame for our woes at Center fell 100 % on the shoulders of Mike Maccagnan.  The same guy who, after Mangold's retirement, first turned to Wesley Johnson, then Spencer Long, and then Harrison to try to fill the void.  Inexcusable.  I wish we could fire him twice.
