Fascinating! This Thread inspired me to do a little research and for the last 2 hours I've been looking up Woody and Christopher Johnson and the Johnson family in general.

We can talk all the smack we want and on the surface they look like they don't know what they're doing. However it turns out that they are the ones laughing at us and all the way to the bank!  Obviously!

But there is more man so much more. Very interesting. Very much like finding Bigfoot.

Yes they are The Heirs to the Johnson & Johnson Fortune. But it's a facade that they've never done anything in their lives and they just rely on that money. They are actually extremely shrewd businessman and a business family. Go ahead and look up who owns the New York Jets and you'll get seven different answers, it's never actually publicly been released. Woody in 2000 was the chairman and the majority shareholder. Christopher who seemingly dropped out of the sky in 2017 has also owned the New York Jets since the year 2000. I also read that their mother was the majority shareholder and she just passed away in May at the age of 99? Christopher Johnson is currently the owner and CEO of the New York Jets and is also the owner of a global Sports marketing firm?

Robert Woodrow Johnson the 4th, owns the Johnson organization out of New York City. Nobody knows what it is LOL!? His ex-wife said he's worth way more than the 4.2 billion that had to be reported on public record before he became an ambassador. I also read that the Johnson family collectively owns the New York Jets. However the other two brothers both died, one from a cocaine overdose and one in a motorcycle accident. Woody loves Harley Davidsons by the way.

Christopher Johnson was quoted as saying he has always been with the team he was just behind the scenes the whole time. I cannot find Christopher Wold Johnson's net worth.

Obviously these are filthy rich people playing the game. Flipping businesses, tax write-offs, DBA's ect. The current owners are listed as Woody and Christopher and they have both been involved in politics for a very long time?

Sorry for the super long post, but just check it out for yourselves. You can't get a straight f****** answer these guys really know how to cover their tracks.

Dear NFL, Make Him Sell. Please.

BTW. This is the lamest political controversy in the history of the UK.  No drugs. No prostitutes. No bribery. Woody Johnson even sucks at being scandalous. Sell the team!

Apparently Woody's incompetence isn't restricted to football.

That's common knowledge...  any filthy rich person, who bought an NFL team, has made a fortune.  The worst owners in the NFL have made a fortune.   If they had bought Amazon instead of the JETS they would be even richer.  Doesn't make them smart. I have seen almost nothing that tells me Woody is a bright businessman. Almost all sports teams are owned by limited partnerships and LLC's with the visible owner owning slightly more than 50 percent.  The Panthers have been to a SB twice , a start up franchise, while Woody has owned the Jets.  Think of that, an expansion team has had more success than us while Woody has been the owner. They have had more good QB's than us etc. Woody's job is to put smart people in charge.  He hasn't done it.  In fact, smart people like Parcells and BB leave.

I should of been more specific. Most on here seem to have their judgement made on Woody being guilty. You stated and the article that came out even state that the sources and so called witnesses are not identified. So I agree with you where are the witnesses. If there is viable evidence to prove this then it will not sit well with the NFL considering the current environment.
Some on here think that there needs to be an ownership change, yet Chris seems to be heading in the right direction. So I just don’t think that changing ownership will help at this present time.

The mission of the Johnson Org is to evade taxes. You’re talking about a man who keeps three goats on the property of his Alpine manse to he can claim it as a farm.

That's dumb.  They have to feed them.  All you need is a few Christmas tree saplings and "poof"... you live on a tree farm.

I'm just waiting for one intrepid reporter to dig in and uncover what many of us have long suspected:  The Jets have a cash flow problem.

You don't hear any NFL ownership type crowing about "we make millions without ever selling one ticket!" any more. This ongoing mess is going to expose a lot of these owners were trading on the equity of their teams. And now that paying it back is not the groundball it was but a few months ago, many of them are going to be exposed as in debt up to their eyeballs.

Have they? I dont know the details but many of these foundations are personal branding and excuses to have lavish parties with huge tax advantages. Only a small % of whats raised actually helps anyone other then then people at the foundation. See Clinton foundation as a perfect example

Woody's dad specifically kept him out of J&J because of his ineptitude - that is common knowledge and his job history is basically "philanthropy".  There is simply no argument that he is anything other then an idiot who has skated through life.  The Jets under his supervision built one of the worst "state of the art" stadiums in any league, lost a coach in Belichick due almost entirely due to him being the owner, and has consistently been unable to hire good executives (John Idzik and Mike Mac say hi).

Yes they have made billions on the Jets, the issue is how much cash do they have?  NFL teams have to escrow their full payroll including coaches at the beginning of each season.  Without season ticket money, guys like Woody/Chris who have little liquid cash are not going to have an easy time doing that.

Woodys daughter has lupus, I doubt that he has the largest lupus foundation in the world dedicated to finding a cure bc he wants to throw parties. And not to burst your bubble but the Clintons never actually received a salary from the foundation. It's a not for profit and those things are public knowledge. If it comes out that there's more to it, fine he should be held accountable, but right now this is just more race driven bullsh*t being put out there meant to keep us divided.

Its way more than race driven bullsh*t.  Its gender and religious slur driven bullsh*t along with breaking the emoluments clause in the Constitution bullsh*t.  If enough bullsh*t piles up on a hill behind the house you can drown in it when it rains.  It's definitely cloudy with a chance of showers.

I own a business and I'm definitely a capitalist.  My mission is to cover the bottom line, pay my good employees salaries, pension benefits and health care benefits that retains their loyalty and long term commitment so I can both cover the bottom lint and make piles of profits.  When my company makes piles of profits those profits are taxed.  I love paying taxes, the more the better.

The big tax scam is these business owners are already paying relatively low taxes.  When you're rich enough the strategy is don't pay or under pay and settle for cents on the dollar.  Woody took this way further and used an illegal offshore tax scheme to avoid over 17 million in taxes in settlement.  Probably half of what he tried to cheat the government out of.

On the backside he bought one of the most prestigious jobs in the world, an Ambassadorship to England, which gives him both power and a network of rich businessmen and government officials to hob knob with from around the globe.  Access that is priceless in its value.  He bought that with roughly a million dollar donation to the Presidents election.

As a Capitalist who believes in free markets, profits and having a world class infrastructure so I can move goods and services, have cheap access to information and quality well educated employees who are physically healthy, not to mention national defense, I pay taxes.  Paying taxes is your patriotic duty as a citizen.  It's not some scheme by ANTIFA.

Haha.  I'm not a Trump fan, he's scum. I couldve easily listed his foundation as well but that wouldve triggered less people. And Ive never watched fox news, I dont think ever tbh. Ive only voted democrat and libertarian in my life.

Ftr, I never said the Clinton's received a direct salary, I said it was essentially branding/vanity project and used for tax and political gain, as well as an excuse to have 10k a plate charity balls

If you honestly believe the Clintons arent corrupt to the core,  cool but this isnt the thread for that discussion

Not really sure what your point here is.  Nothing you write indicates their shrewd business acumen.  Perhaps they are.  Or not.  My view is their biggest failing is that fact that they 'don't know what they don't know'.  A shrewd business person knows that and surrounds himself with people who do and then lets them run the shop.

For the last 20 years all we've seen is mixed marriages of coaches and GM's each of whom inexplicably report to the Johnson's.  We've seen coaches being forced to hire (Rhule) or keep (Sh*ttyheimer) assistant coaches.  For all their business sense this team has more often than not been seen as a circus to the rest of the league.  Hardly good business.

I love this thought process....if we tax the billionaires they are going to LEAVE!!! But also, America is the greatest country on earth if you don't like it LEAVE!!!

So are you saying that billionaires, the people who have the money to do literally anything they want will choose NOT to live in the greatest country on earth? Will Amazon start to refuse selling their products to US citizens if Bezos loses a few mil in income? Methinksnot.

Okay well I did say shrewd businessmen, I did not say shrewd football men. I agree with you on that point that as a football organization the Jets have tried to jam an unbelievable amount of square pegs into round holes. Drafting 4-3 linebackers to play in a 3-4 defense, strong-armed quarterbacks to play in a West Coast offense Etc. There's no question that they delegated responsibilities to people who didn't have a collective plan on how to win football games.

My point had more to do with Woody being worth 6.3 billion dollars. The New York Jets being the 8th most valued franchise in the league at 3.2 billion. How they partnered with the Giants and started a company that Financed the West Side Stadium. How they only owe 542 million left on the stadium yet have 97 years to pay themselves back. LOL at the current rate they make a profit of 332 million dollars annually from the franchise. I read this last night so I'm crunching the numbers from memory.. so that means that by the time they're done paying themselves off with interest for financing the stadium the Johnson family will have accrued over 332 billion dollars-

Yeah Woody has a huge Johnson lol
