For 2 firsts, a 3rd, a Safety with 5 INTs the last 2 seasons, and an $18-20M per year contract they'll have to pay him.

Not worth it.  Seattle will find that out the hard way.

A solid 40% of their cap tied up in Russell and Jamal. Best of luck to em

LeVeon Bell blasts Jamal Adams after Jets, Seahawks trade

July 25, 2020 | 4:37pm

If Le’Veon Bell and Jamal Adams were friends before, that relationship may be over now.

Moments after The Post’s Brian Costello first reported the Jets had dealt the disgruntled All-Pro safety to the Seahawks on Saturday, Bell ripped Adams on Twitter, pointing out that Adams campaigned for Bell to come to sign with the Jets, only to leave himself after Bell’s first season with Gang Green.

“ppl do all the hootin & hollerin to get you brought in, just to leave.” Bell tweeted. “lol like people weird yooo, the internet got these dudes doin whatever for attention, even when they tell you s–t they don’t believe themselves.”

When it was suggested Bell was mad, he responded: “I’m not mad, i’m motivated.”

The Jets dealt Adams and a 2022 fourth-round pick in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, a 2021 first-round pick, 2021 third-round pick and 2022 first-round pick.

Adams had openly campaigned to get moved after not getting the contract extension he desired, ripping coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas, similar to what Bell did with the Steelers before sitting out the entire 2018 season and then signing with the Jets.

Bell and Adams had talked about Adams’ unhappiness, but Bell believed he wanted to stay with the Jets as recently as early July.

“I think he wants to be [with the Jets]. I just think he wants to get paid,” Bell said on Hot 97 radio. “I think he’s in the same situation I was three years ago. He’s a young player. He’s been at the top of the game, playing at a high level and feels like, ‘Dang, I just want to get compensated.’ ”

Adams may get the money he wants, but it won’t be with the Jets, and Bell isn’t happy about it.

Douglas has exceeded my expectations.  Yes Kalil didnt work out but other than that he has been terrific.  I expected getting at best a 1st and third fit Adams.  The fact that we got 2 firsts, a third, and a safety is crazy.  Great job and it’s always good getting rid of malcontents

Only a great trade if he finds players with those picks.

No, its a great trade.

The second part is getting the most out of the picks, but whatever they turn into it doesnt change the fact that he made a great trade

Give the guy his due already and enjoy the trade.  It was great, especially given the circumstances

I would just like to point out that I took an extended nap this afternoon and when I awoke Steven Matz had pitched an amazing game and the Jets pulled off an all-time incredible trade. I am fairly certain my incredible nap is responsible for everything today.

Maybe you need more naps on Sunday afternoons in the fall.

"J Adams is good, so good. But he just can't be as good as McDougald, 2 First Round players and a Third Round player."

My feelings exactly.

Again, this should be a good trade for both sides.  It was never about how good Adams is, he IS very very good.

But he is also a luxury, the kind of guy a great team can afford to risk on as a "final piece" for a possible championship run,  That is Seattle.

He's not the kind of costly luxury a bad rebuilding team builds around.  That's us.  We now have a massive draft asset group the next two years, enough to pretty much completely eliminate ANY talent gap between us and the rest of the league.

You're still sleeping, Rip. And it's 2032.

I told you things are going to be different under Joe Douglas!  :)

Keep in mind a first round pick isn’t worth as much this year because of watered down CFB season.

Why not? Same players. I’d argue that high picks are worth more than ever because there will be less tape on under the radar low draft picks type players

It's pretty funny but if you read the article at Pro Football talk on the trade, the video that plays above has a reporter that the Jets need to set their target way lower than a single 1st to trade Jamal.

They get  2 firsts a a move up from 4th round to 3rd round and a decent veteran safety.

Assuming Seattle makes the playoffs in both seasons it is roughly the value of a mid first next year but it is still a solid haul.

Also if I were to predict any top tier player that would opt out it would be Russell Wilson.

Apparently, lol. ?

0.5 for Mcwhatherface, 6.5 for Adams (Avg. 4 per year so far)

TFL and Sacks aren't close at all, no question.

We'll have to get those sacks and TFL from the more traditional DLine and LB positions, with Mosely and a 2nd year Q.Williams hopefully filling that gap, plus maybe Maye doing better if shifted to SS.

honestly Jamal's sacks were schemed for the most part due to anything resembling a pass rush on the Jets line
