Rate the Adams Trade for the Jets

What grade do you give the Jets for trading Jamal Adams and a 4th round draft pick to Seattle for S Bradley McDougald, 2 1st round draft picks, and a 3rd rounder?

I don't know how this can be graded any lower than an A+ given the circumstances. 

Disgruntled player, who wanted out, and plays a non-premium position, that was poised to be a locker room cancer and was going to demand significantly more than any other player at his position was traded for 2 1sts a 3rd and a competent safety. My only regret is that this wasn't done before the draft and instead of the 2022 pick they received a 2020 1st round pick that could have helped us this year.

Or if Adams' performances in Seattle are not all that, or if he pulls some of the same crap in Seattle a couple of years down the road.

 

Either of those things makes the trade look better.  Not just if JD turns the picks into gold.

I can understand (though strongly disagree with) people giving a low grade on question 1 ("I give the Jets a grade of....").

However, how can people respond to question 2 (that JD got the absolute best deal he could have reasonably been expected to get) with a low grade?!  We got a bigger return than Khalil Mack brought the Raiders for crying out loud!

Jets get an a for the grade because Jamal Adams did everything he could to lower his value this off-season. The Jets get an f for letting the situation spiral so far out of control in the first place.

What exactly could the jets front office and coachs have done to not let it spiral out of control?

They never bad mouthed the player.

They were  very conciliatory to him.

They said they wanted to keep him.

Short of handing the player like 18 million dollars I am not sure what they could have done?
