Jetsfan80
Prior to Joe Douglas' arrival, the Jets roster was clearly bottom 5 in the league, thanks to 6 consecutive awful drafts (starting with Idzik in 2014, followed by Macc's 5 drafts). Entering 2020, the roster is probably still bottom 5, but that likely won't be the case by 2021 given the potential foundational pieces that were added in the draft. Looking at all the changes that have been made since Douglas arrived exactly 14 months ago (June 7, 2019), it's nuts just how many spots on the roster have been impacted in order to turn over the roster, with outgoing starters either replaced on the roster or supplanted: QB2/3: Flacco, Morgan replacing Siemian, Falk RB2/3: Perine, Gore replacing Elijah McGuire, Ty Montgomery WR2/3: Perriman, Mims replacing Robby Anderson, Demaryius Thomas/Quincy Enunwa Starting OTs: Becton, Fant replacing Beachum, Edoga Guards: Van Roten, Lewis, Clark replacing Osemele, Winters, Compton Center: McGovern replacing Harrison TE2: Ryan Griffin replacing Trevon Wesco EDGE: Jabari Zuniga, Bryce Huff replacing Brandon Copeland/Jachai Polite ILB2: Patrick Onwuasor* replacing Avery Williamson (with Williamson replacing Mosley) CB1: Pierre Desir replacing Trumaine Johnson Safety: Bradley McDougald/Ashtyn Davis replacing Jamal Adams P: Braden Mann replacing Lac Edwards * Subject to change: Currently listed as starter per ourlads.com depth charts That's 18 starting/key backup spots on the roster that have been touched by Douglas upon arrival. 19 if you want to include the removal of Leonard Williams via trade, opening up playing time for other Macc holdovers Nathan Shepherd and Kyle Phillips. Other important spots that could also be effected in the near future could also include CB4/5, with the additions of Bryce Hall, Quincy Wilson and UDFA's Lamar Jackson and Javelin Guidry, as well as the WR4/5 spots with the additions of UDFA's Lawrence Cager and George Campbell. Roster cutdowns will begin to establish which of those guys rise to the top. And, of course, BOTH Safety spots could end up getting impacted if Ashtyn Davis and McDougald end up being the starting tandem, relegating Marcus Maye to the bench. Anthony Cioffi, the new # 33, could end up playing a role for the team as well in the Safety department. The only spots that have not yet been affected by Douglas to date are: QB1 (Darnold) RB1 (Bell) Slot WR (Crowder) TE1 (Herndon) NT (McLendon) 3-4 DE (Quinnen Williams, Henry Anderson) OLB (Jenkins) CB2 (Blessuan Austin/Maulet) K (Ficken/Maher) KR (Vyncint Smith) PR (Berrios)
