Whether or not you agree, it's hard to imagine you don't understand that the additional distain for Sanchez is that those who feel that way do so because they see him as the otherwise weak link on a championship caliber team.

But that's the fault of our 40 year old GM or our 45 year old HC.  They ran the show and they decided to roll with a raw rookie instead of getting an established veteran.  How can you blame the 22 year old quarterback?

Sanchez played beyond his abilities in 2009.  Was he the weak link?  Sure.  But we're talking about respect here, and how can you not respect what Mark Sanchez accomplished a) considering his limited abilities, b) considering his age, and c) considering the situation he was thrust into?

Mark is not guilty of ruining anything in 2009 or 2010.  If you want to blame someone, blame Rex Ryan who only cared about the defense, blame Mike Tannenbaum for going rookie at the wrong moment.  But Mark?  He was a good kid who gave us some awesome memories, he's someone who outperformed the likes of Testaverde and Pennington, yet he gets none of the admiration that they often do.  That's not fair.  He played well in those runs.

Junk's arguments get more laughable every round.

Obviously Sanchez is completely blameless for the championship losses, because he was just a poor victim of the Jets having a horrific passing game that was entirely dependent on the defense and run game carrying the team the entire way.  I mean, who in their right mind would ever think a QB has anything to do with a completely inept passing game, right?  Poor innocent Sanchez, so misunderstood.

Tanny sucked, Rex sucked, and Sanchez most definitely sucked.  Those are not mutually exclusive in any way.

Your argument here is simply a change of direction because you realized no one was biting on the straw man you started to try arguing against (e.g., the greatness of the noodle over Sanchez).  You started this all off by pretty explicitly joining the junk-led pitch of Sanchez's supposed playoff brilliance, which is complete nonsense for anyone who was actually paying the slightest bit of attention.  In reality, Sanchez ranged from mediocre to outright awful in 5 out of 6 playoff games, with the Pats game as the lone exception.

The sole argument for Sanchez is that the team won in spite of him merely often, but not always.

Not to mention, the Colts would have been 16-0 that year had they not rested all their starters.  We know that story quite well.

That Sanchez had us up 11 points in a Championship Game against that team is and amazing accomplishment all by itself.  He was a kid.  A few months earlier he was playing beer pong in a USC dorm.

Chances are we lose to the colts in week 16 if they keep their starters in but we'll never know. They trailed by only 5 midway through the 3rd qtr, in the playoffs in SD they trailed by 4 midway through the 3rd and wound up winning.  We never know what happens if that game is played out normal.

Amazing how all those guys at vital positions sucked yet we made back to back AFC Championship Games.  Crazy how that happened.

Who said he was blameless?  I said we didn't lose because of him and we didn't.  We lost because our D got humiliated.  Indy scored 30 and it could have been much more, do you think it's fair to expect a rookie, ANY rookie, to have to lead his offense to more than 30 points to win a championship game?  It's only happened THREE times in history and all 3 were led by all time great QBs.

Instead if insulting people and deflecting from your lack of knowledge just pay attention and learn.

F*ck Chad Pennington.  F*ck Mark Sanchez.  F*ck Geno Smith.  F*ck Ryan Fitzpatrick.  Vinny's, meh, I'm mostly cool with him, but f*ck him too.

These are QB's who all made millions playing a child's game, all to win not championships.

It's sad and pathetic that people try to defend any of them after the fact.  These threads are gross, and the 2 people pushing it to the length its gone should feel bad about it.  Move on.  They didn't win, they sucked, and are long gone.  They don't care about you, and no one cares that you think they were good and that you think you have evidence they were good.

This post tells us so much about you.

Leaving the true mastermind of those 2009-10 seasons:  Eric Mangini.

Yes! The mangenius!  Who couldn't even get to the playoffs with a HOF QB, Brady out for the year and maybe the weakest schedule we've ever had.  Not to mention his greatness in Cleveland ??
