You're ruining the narrative! Let the rats squeak.?

Lol, I don't mean to, I am simply confused.  Were people expecting us to sign some big "name" guy before camp started?

Personally, I fully expected Perriman/Crowder/Mims to be our starters, hence why i was worried one was already injured.

Did someone get hurt in camp or something?

We have:

#1. Perriman
Slot:  Crowder
#3: Mims

Backups:  Hanson, Berrios, Smith, Cager, etc.

Did we lose one of these guys?

what on earth makes u think Perriman is a #1-dude is a jaq that has been cut by multiple teams-he sucks-jet fans love to hype of scrub wrs

crowder is avg wr at best

Mims I hope and pray is good and not stephen hill

The WRs are well below average. We know this. Douglas will need at least another offseason or two to make the position a strength.

But given Darnold’s moderate success with a garbage offensive line and skill players, the offense should be significantly improved. The revamped OL will raise the quality of the unit, as will Darnold with two years of experience. I’m expecting them to be somewhere in the 15th-20th range.

We are not winning a title this year. I don’t support trading picks for a JuJu or A-Rob, to whom we either shell out big money or lose after a year.

problem with that narrative is at some point in the near future jets will have to decide to pay or not pay sam-how can you judge the guy with zero weapons at his disposal?

We are two years away from that. Plenty of time to find out if Darnold is legit. He has to perform this year and be a top 15 type guy. There is enough for him to work with to produce.

We are getting dangerously close to making the same Geno Needs Moar Weaponz argument for Sam.

It was always a little precarious to lean on Vyncint Smith, and his situation is the most concerning. I'm not too worried about Mims and his hamstring. Have no problem with them taking extra precautions with the rookie if that's what they're doing.

WR was going to be a priority next offseason, regardless. They were going to be scouring the waiver wire this year, regardless. They could easily be in the trade market this year, too, although I wouldn't expect any big splashes - maybe a late pick for a guy on another team's bubble.

Either way, It's August and I'm not ready to call a crisis just yet.

I would argue we have the worst #1 wr on any team in the nfl at this point-our number one wr as folks are stating is perriman a jag that had under 40 catches last year in what was his best year

Yeah, you missed that Mims and Vyncint Smith are both out. Mims hamstring may be minor, but hamstrings have a habit of lingering or getting re-injured. Smith is a core muscle issue and the team sent him to a specialist. Memories of Mosley last year...with our history of bad luck Smith will probably be gone for the year.

a little too early to panic about the wr's. granted mims isn't practicing because of a hamstring and smith is getting evaluated for a core muscle injury but the rest of the guys are practicing and it's not like anyone should expect mims to be a force from game one.  the main thing is that the oline is practicing and it sounds like they're doing well.  keeping darnold clean will be way more important that worrying about the receivers at this point.

Agreed. But as Jets fans, it's never too early to panic!

V. Smith is hure with a core muscle issue he is visting a specialist on. That may be long term issue. Mims pulled hamstring that likely is week to week, day to day, etc. but a few more days and he will not know enough to start and will have to begin as like a 4-5 WR or you will see a lot of the frustrating WR runs one way and the QB throws the other way. and Hogan adds into the list you stated somewhere between 2-4 depending on how he does in camp.

I knew about Mims hammy, just hadn't heard it was worth worry as yet.  I still expect him to start with Perriman and Crowder.

Hadn't heard about V. Smith, could be problematic for him aye, but he's a depth guy IMO, so next depth guy up.  Not worried.

And we signed Hanson.  He seems fill-inable for now.

I don't think he's anything yet.  I expect him to start (looking at our roster) in the Robbie Anderson #1 outside WR role.  Were you expecting someone else to play that spot?

Crowder in the slot, Mims (at least early on) as the #3 second outside WR.

Sorry, but were folks expecting we were signing some big name WR at this point?  I don't think we're going that route, given whats still left available.
