Jerry killing it this offseason. Didn’t give into Dak’s absurd demands, turned #17 into CeeDee on a rookie dealer instead of Jamal+$$$$, and get an elite safety Potentially for dimes on the dollar without giving up draft picks.

Meanwhile we got two 1sts and a 3rd for a guy who is less of a play maker than Thomas and though not as much of a problem one who is trending that way.

This.

A fight doesn't get you thrown off the team (see Jordan Jenkins, Alex Lewis, GVR, etc.).  There's something deeper going on with Earl in Baltimore.

Of course there is.  He jettisoned his way out of Seattle, too.  A pretty good place to be a Safety, I hear.

Headcase and/or diva.

Imagine giving people 2 1s for Jamal and then a month later Thomas hits the open market lol

Fair point, but Thomas is 7 years older than Adams, and obviously was never going to go back to Seattle after literally giving the franchise the finger.

This certainly shows how little Earl Thomas meant to Baltimore that they were willing to cut him without much of a problem.  Baltimore cuts their diva Safety.  Seattle trades a huge package of picks for one.  Awesome.

Baltimore can now go pick up Eric Reid or Logan Ryan if they'd like to fill that veteran Safety role.

There was almost universal silence from teammates when Jamal left.  Nobody outright said they were glad Adams was traded...but nobody really thought it was a big loss or lamented losing his (faux) leadership.  At least that's what I noticed from teammates.  The silence was kinda deafening....like a big collective "Meh!" after the trade.

If anything getting that shiny, distracting object off the defense will give other guys an opportunity to step up.  And, with Mosley opting out it really opens the door for new leadership.  McClendon is the old sage, the wise hard-working veteran, but nobody mistakes him for being a big Pro Bowl type talent at this stage of his career.  There could be a lot of meritocracy at play on that Defense....and with Gregg Williams running the show I think that's just how he likes it.

right.  once it became evident that adams wasn't half the leader he thought he was, he became expendable.  there's no denying the guy had football talent but he needed more than that if he wanted to be paid the big bucks.  it's going to be interesting to see if he becomes earl thomas part two in seattle.

S Grant Delpit just went down with an apparent Achilles injury for Cleveland.  Might be a landing spot for Thomas if his preferred destinations (like Dallas) don't come calling.  He'd also get to face the Ravens 2x if that happened.

With Delpit down, the starting Safety tandem for Cleveland at the moment is Andrew Sendejo (FS) and Karl Joseph (SS).

Most NFL players will generally stay silent in a situation like Jamal’s: the code of don’t talk about a player fighting a team over his contract. Even if they think he’s behaving foolish.
