The injuries continue to mount for Adam Gase and the New York Jets as Connor Hughes of the Athletic mentioned in a training camp tweet, letting fans know that the team’s projected number one wide receiver is not practicing today due to injury.

Perriman joins second-round draft choice Denzel Mims on the shelf, leaving the Jets top receivers at the moment as Jamison Crowder, Jeff Smith and Josh Malone.

With the season fast approaching and no preseason games, having Darnold miss reps with his top targets is far from an ideal situation.  The injuries at receiver further highlight the importance of tight ends Chris Herndon and Ryan Griffin staying healthy.

The Jets wouldn't have this problem if they had drafted Preston Williams... like I had hoped.

Instead, he is going to torment Jets DBs, and fans, as he ascents to one of the best wideouts in the game.

who? link please.

I am not sure what you mean?

Preston Williams is a Miami Dolphin.  He was having a great rookie year.  Tore his ACL.  Now he is back in camp and looks as good as ever.  Going to be a star.

I hate when you get injury reports like that. It can mean anything from a hangnail to a broken leg. The old man is a triathlete (you're considered a pro if you can ace an Iron Man, he's done 12; but he really is just a weekend warrior as are his crazy friends), and he was telling me that there were these studies conducted about the benefits of stretching pre and post athletic activity. It was found that by and large it isn't as wildly preventative as we all tend to think. Sorry, no link, just a word of mouth type thing; but he stopped stretching a long time ago and hasn't suffered for it.

I stretch before and after hiking just because it feels good and I think I'm doing something to help myself somehow. Most times injuries are just flukey or a weak spot coming back to haunt, but is it really an accident that everyone is going full Bobby Brady, "Oooo, my enkle!" as soon as TC/pre-season rolls around? I mean, I know you have to fall out of a tree house for that to happen, but stiil. I don't know, but I basically contradicted myself, wasted everyone's time, and said nothing. Yes, I know I just left myself wide open. As you were.

isnt he a no big deal, undrafted free agent?

Because of an unknown absence by Perriman?

Let the panic continue, lol

I read something about that years ago that stretching / not stretching are toughly equal *unless* you commonly stretch then don't stretch and vive versa which increases the likelihood of injury. However, it specifically wasn't judging the impact on performance of stretching vs not stretching...just injury.

That sounds about right.

I must have missed this. When was this reported/rumored to be true? I find that hard to believe given the fact that he was named a Captain midseason.

Saw it mentioned a couple of times on other boards and Reddit.  Maybe it's a rumor.  But I also wanted him back.  Yet.  It seems like he wants another team and town.  (Denver specifically)  But if the Jets had wanted him you think they would have done it by now.
