Obviously what we saw today was by Design. Strategists and teachers like Adam Gase and Greg Williams, not only need to see what they have in the backups but they have to warn the Ones not to get complacent. Do you really think the plan was to have the starters beat the crap out of the backups? What would that do for anybody?

Every intrasquad practice, preseason game, or joint team practice is discussed by the coaches ahead of time and scripted very similar to pro wrestling.

This is exactly the outcome they wanted. The hungry second-string beating up on the complacent starters and embarrassing them. Absolutely lighting a fire under their ass!

Now they got a chance to see who the real backups are, and now the starters realize that there's real football coming up in 2 and 1/2 Weeks. I bet you'll see No Nonsense at the next practice. Lesson learned. Strategic and psychological. Btw I'm still naked and drinking vodka.

Jets are also strong at TE and still questionable at WR and on the OL. I think a steady diet of two TEs should be on the menu, and a guy like Herndon should be getting five throws his way every week, if not more. I think you'll see the RBs in the 30 touches a game range, depending on how it's going. Perine probably won't be a big contributor on offense early. I could see him leaning on Gore a lot, though, as Gase gets tired of Bell's patient running style, waiting for a hole that never comes. 

1/3 of what I’m advocating is receptions. I admit though, it’s an intentional exaggeration to illustrate that our new OL combined with RB depth can/should be used to compensate for our WR problems.

Ultimately, get the ball to your okay makers. #6 WR shouldn’t have more targets in pass game than Bell or Gore, basically.

I don't advocate going back to two a days, but the pendulum has swung to far to the other side. And I doubt this kid glove approach to training camp is going to limit injury in any way.

For all we know, Douglas plans to trade bell during the season.  So it would make sense to keep him as fresh as possible.

I disagree.  I think gase loves rotating his rbs, and he’s gonna use all 3 of them from the get go.  And with all these wrs missing reps, you have to believe the first few games are going to be about overusing rb and te screens and rolllouts.  I mean, today’s scrimmage didn’t have perriman, mims or jefff smith.  Where’s the speed?  Of course the offense is going to struggle.
