Would you trade Leonard Williams for Ashtyn Davis?

That's what we got, when we got the Giants 3rd round draft pick.  Ashtyn is turning out to possibly be the best value pick of the entire draft.

The Giants are hyping up Leo as being stout in the run, and blah blah blah.

And we still get a 5th round pick from the Giants next year as well.

leo plays at the level of a 5th rounder.  he did not and will not become the dominant dlineman that such a high draft pick should be.  he's not a bad player just not an impact player.

We'll use that 5th rounder....or trade back for another pick, then take a starting Kicker next year like we took Braden Mann this year.  Leo will essentially have turned into a starting Safety and starting K.  Absolutely worth it.

Id expect to see this happen again and again.  Douglas will keep players that warrant an extension and jettison any that dont perform at the level of their salary demands for draft picks or comp picks.  Williams and Anderson are examples.   Very much like the Patriots and Ravens do business.

Jets may have got Ashtyn Davis just a few picks later with their second third round pick. You could say Jets traded Leonard Williams for Jabari Zuniga.

Only if Transmidgets matter....if the they don't matter, then the answer would probably be "No"

You could also say that if the Jets didn't have the Giants pick, that they would have used their pick on a pass rusher (Jabari Zuniga) and Ashtyn Davis would be on some other ball club.

Davis has been killing it in TC and was excellent in the scrimmage.  He would be starting week 1 if Maye himself hadn’t had a great camp. The kid is going to be a star
