This exactly. Nobody knows what Dallas even offered ..it was all rumors.

I actually think it worked out perfectly because just at the time Jamal was at his most dick headedness, we got three draft picks and a very classy player to replace him.

If you haven't heard MacDougald speak, go check him out. He's a good dude and a really smart guy. I'm proud to have that guy representing as a Jet, he's the polar opposite of meat bopping Jamal Adams.

I can have patience with JD pulling the trigger. 2021/2022 drafts will be epic. This is a 3 year rebuild including this year. Things start moving on an upward trend starting Sunday.

Would having Lamb and whoever we got with the extra 3rd be more valuable than having 2 firsts in the next two drafts?  For this season I'd have to say yes.  but I still like what we did there. 

Even if the jets had gotten this package, I am not convinced JD drafts Lamb at 17.   I think he was more likely to go Pass rusher or CB.

Many bubble players cut yesterday will join Jets 16-man practice squad. A few are likely be signed to the active roster after 4 pm, when teams can move players to IR. WR Vyncint Smith & LB Patrick Onwuasor obvious candidates to go on IR because of their injury timetables.

If its true that Dallas offered their 1st rounder, even if they didn't offer anything beyond that but a scrub DB (as it was rumored), that would have indeed been worth more than what we got for Jamal from Seattle.  Even if Lamb had not been available, it would have been better than the trade we got from the Seahawks.  That's because we would have reaped the benefits of the trade much sooner than the package of picks from Seattle.  @Sperm Edwards broke this down quite well a few months ago.

But yes, the Seattle deal was a great consolation prize, especially when considering Adams was openly trying to shoot his way out of town, and we also don't know for sure what Dallas actually offered.

I disagree, The mims pick all but confirms that.  he knew our needs baby.

No, not a chance he would have used that pick on Mims.  If Douglas had a 1st round grade on Mims, he wouldn't have  traded down with Mims still on the board in the 2nd round.  He would have rushed that pick in to the virtual podium.

My guess is we would have traded down from the Dallas pick.

Well the main point is that he would have almost cetasinkly used it on a WR. The Mims pick pretty much confirms that.  As far as not running to the podium to draft him I'm not sure I agree 100%.  I get it but I'm not entirely convinced. 

JD seemed to have an understanding of the board and what the teams between 48 and 59 would be more likely to do.  I think that had everything to do with the trade back. It's a risk but he played the tendency and need game. In truth I don't really see JD passing on Lamb for Mims, but it's possible. Unlikely but possible.  at 17 Lamb was still there obviously. 

But the real point was about the positional choice more than the player.
