maury77
Peyton Manning was coming off of career-threatening neck surgery and 100% credits Adam Gase for designing a new offense that suited his reduced skillset. Peyton Manning might have been nothing if he had the wrong offensive coordinator when he needed one the most. And I'll take Peyton Manning's referral from the field over your opinion from your armchair, pretzels, and laptop, I'm sure you'll understand. SAR IReally? Cause of Peyton? Because no one would ever give a referral for a friend even if the friend is unqualified for the position, that never happens.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jet_Engine1
1 hour ago, SAR I said: I disagree. I think Christopher Johnson is rightly committed to building a stable front office and stable coaching staff and building a successful team around those two areas. The Jets biggest mistake since 1970 is this never-ending merry go round of head coaches and GM's and quarterbacks who are never in sync with each other and are always pressured into making knee-jerk overreactions to appease dumb fans. For once I would like to try it the other way. The right way. And so we are. Until Gase gets to pick his quarterback, he's not going anywhere. Especially true if its clear that Darnold is not improving and is never getting a max deal from the Jets. SAR I No It will never stop until the GM can hire HIS coach and then the unified and coordinated brain trust can draft THEIR QB. And the reason the organization is dysfunctional is because the Johnsons are Trustafarians who decided to buy their way into influence rather than build something, and they are desperate for the feeling of control over the organization. At least Hess built something on his own, but it still took him forever to check his ego and turn everything over to Parcells. They need to put Douglas in charge and get the hell out of the way, and if that means Gase gets sh*tcanned immediately, more the better.
Charlie Brown
I have pushed away from the ledge because of this... @SAR I This graph says it all...... Again.........I have been all over Darnold for yesterdays HORRIFIC performance; but NO QB can perform with an oline performance like this and that includes TOM BRADY!!!! 1

Did he play scared against the Cowboys, Raiders, Redskins, Giants, and Ravens last year? He chucked a pick into the middle of the field rolling to his left... that isn't playing scared, stupid yes, but scared? this play has nothing to do with playing scared he simply missed a wide open receiver. Him constantly throwing off his back foot and refusing to step up into the pocket is playing scared, not to make a throw, but to get hit. He does not like it when the pocket gets crowded, pull me some film of him stepping up into the pocket and putting some zip on the ball then compare the few times hes done that to the ridiculous amount of times his mechanics stink because he wont step up. He plays scared, period.

By definition that is a cluster **** and it sure as sh*t doesn't support OC over QB. In every level of fairly competitive football I ever played the offense did situational drills.. repeating scenarios over and over again so that it was second nature. That "scramble drill", when the pocket collapses and your quarterback gets flushed out.. every skill position player has an assignment and their route changes. Most TE and WR2 WR3 are now on a slant or comeback route regardless of what your original assignment was. The WR1 usually stays on his post/go route. Sam knows this since.. JR year in high school. A lot of us saw Jamison. I guarantee Sam saw Jamison. He didn't pull the trigger. Fear. Lack of confidence. Doubt. Gase in his head. Whatever it it was.. something is wrong. Either Sam is hot garbage, or something is going on in his head. Because as many mechanical issues as he may have.. that throw was a give me for anyone with an arm bigger than a wet noodle. Crowder being that open makes this play so much worse for Sam I didn’t even see it on tv. A gunslinger makes that throw and if Sams not in that mind set then we've got problems Baldinger makes this seem way easier than it is. He’s got to sling that thing 40 yards down the field without setting his feet. I would have been fine with just throwing it away.

So with basically no competition via pre-season games and 5 new Offensive lineman, you are actually going to point fingers at them in game 1 ?? You do realize it takes time for these guys to get used to one another how they play and communicate. I'm really not sure what you expected in game 1. Also you are not factoring in how long Darnold was holding on to the football. He is slow at reading defenses and he is slow getting the ball out to open receivers. On the Crowder play you could see Darnold looking that way and you could see the direction Crowder was heading you could also see the defender take a step in and that one step in (which the QB should have recognized) created 6 yards of separation as soon as that defender stepped in the ball should have been out of Darnolds hands instead he ran out of bounds. Same thing in the pocket he not recognizing sh*t and its making the job of the OL that much harder.
NamathToCaster
Sam has not seen many open receivers over the last several seasons. He seems to have vision problems as far as scanning the entire field and determining who is open and who is not.
