    • Yes, the season is already over
    • Even though we looked awful, our season can't be over after 1 week of football, can it?!

The Jets season comes down to weeks 3-5. If they can win 2/3 maybe this season could at least be interesting for a while. If not, it’s another 1-4 or 0-5 start and we can start writing our obituaries for Gase.

Sunday is going to be an absolute disaster of epic proportions. The best case scenario is the Jets make it out of there without major injuries.

On paper? No. Of course not. Any other way? YES. We are absolutely FRIED more than anything because the optimists have no choice but to admit the realists were correct all along.

I'm a realist. Always have been and always will be. I saw a 5-11, 6-10 team given two factors:

1) a MUCH harder schedule. The Jets Are not facing the punching bags they faced last season and they can't beat good teams.

2) The Jets lost their two very best players this season. ANY team in the NFL, even the almighty Chiefs, CANNOT lose their two best players and win. It's simply not possible in the salary cap age.

So YES, that's my answer. Joe Douglas transformed this team into his best imitation of Mike Macagnan.

There were never playoff hopes to begin with.

We have a very bad roster, among the worst in the league and a head coach with a proven record of getting the least possible out of players.

Some of the posts in the last few weeks were bordering on delusional. This is bad team and it's clearly not prioritising winning immediately. Anything other than a top 5 pick would be hugely surprising. The first overall pick is the most likely it's been in decades, although somehow we'll f*ck that up too,

Remember when these maggots had all those graves dug last year after Luke Falk’s third start and they were all so satisfied with themselves because we passed on The Great Mike McCarthy and then the Jets finished 6-2 and those same maggots were like “wins that invalidate my whining don’t really count in this man’s league” and then this weekend they were like “See, Gase sucks!!!!” and then Mike McCarthy—with Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Tyron Smith, and Zack Martin went out and put up the same point total as Adam Gase’s threadbare Jets group and then those maggots were all, “uhhhhhhh I wanted Kliff Kingsbury actually”? Good times.

Last year's 6-2 record in the 2nd half will be talked about in NFL history books for decades to come!  People will be in awe at how Adam Gase managed to beat NFC East superpowers Giants and Washington!  How brilliant he was in that thrilling comeback against a Dolphins' team that many in NFL circles thought would go undefeated! (or was that win-less?)  The breathtaking win against immortal Steelers' QB, Duck Hodges!  The way he kept the team razor-focused in their thrilling regular-season finale win against Buffalo's backups!  Oh, and the one actual fairly impressive win against a mediocre Raiders' team.

Alas, the 0-11 Bengals were too great of an obstacle for a 7-1 finish, but all it proves is that even Adam Gase is human!

Yea we could turn it around but there would have to be substantial changes made immediately.  Fire Gase would be foremost on this list.  GEt Van Roten out of there as well as Lewis . They were beat like rag dolls.  Trade QW NOW. Add picks. Trade for Allen Robinson - NOW. Get another CB. Desir was absolutely horrible (Tru like).  Thats for starters, feel free to add to this list to turn around this season.

I think it's time we started calling him this from now on:

Adam "6-2" Gase

It's never over until it's over crazy things have happened in seasons past like teams looking like locks in the first half of the season and then imploding the second half.    So week by week game by game.

Correct !  It's NEVER over. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor ?

... ugghhh,.. OUR playoff hopes/chances for THIS season were DEAD even BEFORE this season started

My next poll will be "We're 1 week into the 2020 season.  Are our playoff hopes for 2021 already dead?"

Our injuries suck but I still think our roster is better than last year and we did not suck last year.

Yes, we did.  We were outscored by 83 points last year.  The final record was fool's gold.  This year we have KC and SF on the schedule plus 3 west coast trips.  Even at perfect health this would have been a 6-win team.

We were below average but not one of the worst teams in the NFL. We are improved this year, so we are not going to be the worst team in the NFL. We will also beat SF they are in as big of a shambles as we are. They looked poor Sunday as well

Only 7 teams were worse in point differential.  That made us one of the worst teams in the NFL.  And there is zero evidence we're "improved" this year.

Pathetic homerism on full display here.

7th in point differential?  That is like mid-pack of the losers.  There are only 16 games.  That is one worse than dead center.

There's not much difference between bad teams in a given year.  There's a massive difference between contenders and non-contenders.  The point is this team sucked last year overall, much like that 2013 8-8 team that sucked.

SF has a dominant DL. Sam will be seeing ghosts before halftime.

I think the biggest takeaway from SF's loss Week 1 is that Arizona is legit and they actually have some common sense and SUPPORT their young QB by going out and getting him weapons to utilize.
