It’s clear Jamal’s disruption was the only thing holding this defense together

I love how some seemingly forget this entire team constantly sucked for all 3 years with Adams.  So now we have to baselessly pretend this sh*tty team wouldn't continue on with this nearly decade-long trend that has been completely constant both with and without Adams, just so to justify incessantly whining about something other than the endless list of problems that actually exist with the team itself.

You still whine about Pennington you soulless ghoul.

Right, we are worse than last season on D but getting rid of the best player on D has no effect on that.

But would improving our D somewhat actually change the outcome. Also who knows how interested he'd be without a new contract on this dumpster fire.

No, much like with Adams, I opt to simply point out the mind-numbing stupidity of self-congratulatory threads from those excited to pat themselves on the back for their own endless praise of useless bums they have an inexplicable infatuation with over the team we (try to) root for, despite having provided no measurable value, with nothing but excuses based solely on nonsensical conjecture devoid of any fact-based reality.

Yeah,  those picks we got for Adams sure helped today. How soon do we trade Maye?

Right, the entire team is a pile of hot garbage, but an incessantly whiny box safety that the team sucked with for years would have changed everything, despite absolutely nothing to support such claims.

But hey, let's not worry about any little facts like the team being just as big of a pile of hot garbage for the first half of last season, just because some people were foolish enough to get blinded by squeaking out a few awful wins at the end of the season, interestingly enough even including their games without Adams, which saw absolutely no noticeable difference in team performance at the time.

Yeah buddy, you are right. Check off the box that getting rid of the only player that made plays on a regular basis was what was wrong with the team.

Hey, did you happen to notice who played QB for the first half of the season genius?

For Christ sake, this place is the dumpster fire because of things like this get posted and nobody give a ?

So wait, would Adams have single-handedly defined the entirety of the Jets' performance or not?  Your entire argument is now dependent on completely contradicting yourself.

The point is quite simply, absolutely all of the evidence throughout his entire professional career shows that Adams on his own was incapable of doing anything to impact overall team performance of a team that sucked before, after, and with him.  Your conjecture for why he on his own would have supposedly changed everything, is now also asserting why it's not his fault that the team constantly still sucked even with him on the field the past 3 years.

The defense would be better. Period. Does the team win? No, we don't  because Gase would still be calling the O, our WR's would still suck, and our CB's would still be second string quality but I would bet he tackles the RB that made that 80 yard TD before he got past the second level and he wouldnhave sacked Goropolo at least 2 times because that is what he did his whole career on the Jets so yes.

The point is if you are trying to build a solid team, trading away All Pro players in their rookie deal is not the way to do it.

We'll have to disagree on this one, which is fine. I just don't think Jamal moves the needle and he wasn't going to play on that contract for the Jets.

So then the team would still be a steaming pile of crap, as it would continue the career-long trend of him making no significant difference to that reality.  Wow, I guess the Adams fans really should be excited to be so self-congratulatory of such brilliant revelations like that being gifted to others.

I'll also be sure to keep in mind that doing something twice ever now qualifies as "what he did his whole career".

Greg Williams has been terrible for years. Last year was the aberration where he managed to be middle of the pack. He's also done worse in his 2nd year with a defense (I suspect other teams get tape of his scheme with the players and he can't adjust to their adjustments). Adams doesn't make a blip of difference here and that's before you get into his emotional problems that would cause him to be depressed and cause an endless stream of sh*t

Lawrence Taylor in his prime wouldn't  make the difference you are asking for on this team. What is your point?

That the endless repetition of these idiotic threads shows only that those in love with Adams are still incapable of formulating a single rational thought to support their baseless claims contradicting all historical evidence, as has been so eloquently shown here once again.
