Gase has almost double the wins than Kotite in one season and Kotite had a far superior roster. I'm not defending Gase but I'm just being fair.

Upon thinking about it, Kotite losing by 1 benefits his average margin of defeat so it's not a fair comparison (e.g. because Gase getting a last second win against Miami last year hurt his margin of defeat).  Obviously 7 wins last year for Gase tops anything by Kotite's tenure here.  Regardless, though, this still doesn't reflect well on Gase.

True.  But did Kotite face any QB's on the level of Devlin Hodges/Mason Rudolph or Matt Barkley in either season?

I can tell you the 4 QBs the Jets beat when he was HC:

Boomer Esiason (Cardinals) ; Bernie Kosar (Dolphins); Rick Meier (Seahawks); Mark Brunell (Jaguars)
