I've been saying this. Cross off any promising head coaching candidate. Why would anyone with a brain and a bright future tie themselves to this franchise? I don't know where we even go from Adam Gase unless the Johnson's want to back up a truck full of money. Which they never do, they don't spend on coaches

Jets fans automatically think we’re gonna hire Eric Bieniemy or Greg Roman. Those guys would have to want to come here too that’s not guaranteed

There is a lot of bitterness because he left before the job was complete, but he was a great coach and fully restored the franchise from the depths of Kotite.

IIRC, BP left when BB said he was going to leave the franchise.  BP immediately stepped down and anointed BB.  The next day, when BB resigned as HC of the NYJ, BP agreed to stay on for a year as GM to give the franchise some continuity.  The year when BP stepped away (and Groh left for Virginia) was when we were back on our own again (under Bradway and Herm).

Great point.  Even in Rex's heyday when the team was winning, there was always a clown mobile vibe.  When Parcells and Belichick were here it felt like it was a professional sports franchise...

The fact that we went from 1-15 to 12-4 in the AFC Title game in two years is truly remarkable, even if Parcells did make some critical personnel moves that hurt us after he left.

True you can have fast turnarounds in this league with the right leadership. Look at the 49ers, they went from 4-12 to in the Super Bowl the following season

If we have the #1 pick and Lawerence comes out coaches will be falling over themselves to take this job. If we're picking in the 5-10 range where Fields and Lawrence will be off the board and whatever coach who comes here will be stuck with Darnold, then yes, no coach with any other NFL HC opportunities will want this job.
