Johnson & Johnson found the COVID vaccine

That vaccine will be distributed by Astra Zeneca. My neighbor is a big shot at Astra Zeneca and had the J and J vaccine shot in May, with no side effects. I spoke with him approximately 5 weeks ago and he told me that the drug would be available for distribution October 19.  That was before they had the "pause" about 2 weeks ago. So not sure what the new date of planned distribution is.

As for the comments by someone here that you have to be "rich" in order to get a shot, that is untrue. The government has been funding research on a number of these drugs and subsidizing its distribution. The cost will be relatively minor. There will be a priority of who gets shots first, with the most vulnerable and front line people first. I was told that the Wilmington, DE area will get the very first distribution once they "go".

Saw that too.  Takes a special type of whiner to believe this.

I know a respected, retired Dr. involved in the race for a vaccine, hes been involved in testing and his indications are the same.  He also believes it will be available to all soon

No he doesn't .... The money he inherited is from his grandparents... which sits in a fund that his regulated by a separate company the Johnson Company which may own stocks of the company but is an investment company that is private and has no true affiliation with JNJ... JNJ is not run nor owned by anyone in the Johnson family.

Woody and Chris have never been a part of that company nor do they have any affilation now. Their investment company may own stocks but have no divested interest in the company...

So can we stop posting stupid things about a company they have nothing to do with.

It's not like you go into the jungle with Willy Wonka and find a native village of oompa loompas using the vaccine for food. Vaccines are developed, not found. Just saying.

Actually,  there is a bit of that involved in developing medicines, believe it or not. Sadly, no Oompa Loompas, though.

Mark April on your calendar.  'Cause that's when we'll start getting vaccinated.  At least on a large scale.

Probably.  The glass used to hold and transport the vaccine is difficult to mass produce in the scale that will be necessary to vaccinate the entire world population.  The vials that already exist in supply chain need to be used for already existing vaccines like influenza, MMR etc

They have no part of the company any more. Not sure why people can't understand that.

Don’t know how in all these years people can’t get this.  A couple of weeks ago as a prelude to ripping them I was told that they aren’t even allowed to run the family business.  Just because.  As if this was even remotely true

Right they’re not “involved” with the company but Woody is the heir

Nope... no affiliation... His grandparents founded the company and was the beneficiary to the money they made at the company but has never been apart of the company at all, ever.

They have already started mass production and have come up with some alternative solutions.

Woody's grandfather fired Woody's old man in 1965.

He allegedly got fed up hearing the reports of Woody constantly causing the Band-Aid production line to shut down, as the Woodster kept choking on them during his summer internship there, so Grandpa decided there and then was no way any of his wretched offspring's even more wretched offspring would be allowed any say in the company, or it'd be bust in a month.

Mass production of a vaccine without FDA approval?  Do tell

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/14/the-us-has-already-invested-billions-on-potential-coronavirus-vaccines-heres-where-the-deals-stand.html

You really do need to follow the news.

The government has invested almost 2 billion dollars in vaccine candidates, with the hope that they will hit. That means, if they meet FDA approval, they are ready for distribution. A distribution plan has already been published.
