LMFAO! Kids today, how did you do that? I'm lucky I know how to use a cell phone at all. A camera on a phone, what nonsense. I usually take a picture of my tonsils when I'm talking. Damn it.

I'm the only person in America who still doesn't even OWN a cell phone, oh wait my 94 year old mother doesn't either.

so many criticisms of darnold here and all sound reasonable but aren’t accurate - gase has him playing like a turtle - can’t audible - can’t roll out of the pocket - no play action - receivers get zero separation - NOT darnolds fault - he had plenty of swagger rookie year - gase has castrated him - seriously see the big picture

Missing receivers when they are open, bad decision making , unforced ints , bad pressure awareness. Is all on Sam tho .

Sorry, but no... Darnold's time isn't now, unfortunately. When as a QB you're running out of bounds for a loss instead of throwing it away.  You aren't ready. When you're still throwing it up for grabs off your back foot into the middle of the field. It isn't your time. For all the things which aren't Darnold's fault, of which there are plenty, Darnold is still making more than his share of bad decisions. Hopefully we'll see a lot of progress the rest of the season otherwise his time may be running short.

I second this. The apathy is worse. Granted, I haven’t paid attention to any of the other fugazi sports this year, either, and I think the NFL doesn’t make it through ten games before going on hiatus until the Spring, but watching Darnold suck and Gase suck and half the roster bottlenecking in the doorway of the trainer’s room trying to get IR’ed has drained the life out of me.

Agreed , as hard as I try it’s been difficult getting into the fake sports this year . And not just because the Jets and Mets are awful . I’ve been a die hard Islander fan since I was 9...I casually watched them come just short of the Finals and lose in what normally would’ve have been heartbreaking fashion ..Sighed , went to sleep and didn’t think once about it the next day. Wake me up in 2021 when hopefully we have some sense of normalcy back .

It took us almost 50 years, but three years ago we believed we had our quarterback-the all-elusive required piece to the puzzle of becoming respectable and, hopefully, a Super Bowl contending team.  Now it seems almost certain that the Darnold pick will be a waste and we will be starting from ground zero again next year.  As Mark Cannizzaro said, Joe Douglas is building for the future when Darnold's time is now.  Maccagnan gave him nothing to work with.  No line. No WRs.  Garbage.  Although Douglas did improve the line this year, he refused to spend any money on a decent WR when injuries have ravaged an average WR room at best.  If mismanagement was a crime, Woody Johnson, Chris Johnson, Mike Maccagnan and Adam Gase would be on Death Row.  The shame of this season makes me sick and I have no confidence going forward.  I feel such hatred for this organization right now.

Well, I'm the only person in America who doesn't, has never, and will never belong to social media of any kind, so there! It's not like I laugh when I hear that some idiot killed themselves YET AGAIN falling off a cliff while while a taking a selfie because they can't stop looking at themselves. Look at me and my pouty face on this ledge, AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhhh, GGGGggggsssssssh! OK, I laugh a little. Alright, I laugh some. Oh, fine, I laugh a lot.  RIP (REST IN PIECES)!

It goes back to how he was scouted

maccagnan targeted Darnold a year early, let go of Harris and decker to hurt the roster, but then brought in mccown

it cost him 3 second round picks that could have been used to support Sam

just unbelievable that he was put in charge of an nfl team

Then again we could have won 5 more games to take us out of the Sam sweepstakes in the first place, traded down yet another 8 slots to pick up a third 2nd rounder that year, keep the fourth 2nd rounder for the following draft, and gone with Lamar Jackson.

Or we could have just drafted the best QB of all time - or a totally acceptable consolation prize in Watson - instead of a ****ing safety.

Darnold is 23 years old. His time isn’t necessarily now, he has quite a few years to continue to develop his talent. There is plenty of time to build the line and bring in skill position players. Douglas is doing a nice job with that. Line first, then skill guys. I think we are going to see one of those players in a couple weeks when Mims gets on the field. Bechton certainly looks like the real deal too. This will take another 2-3 years, but when your team is so broken after many years of incompetence you need to be methodical about the rebuild, and realistically plan 3-5 years out. We are in year 2, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
