Team archer
He got hurt right? He had ankle surgery and said he wont ever be the same. Sucks because everyone was in favor of griff getting his little deal.

Some guys come back quickly. But if he’s not 100% why have him on the field. Bring someone off the practice squad to replace him. 3

Popular Post Bleedin Green
I'm far from sold on JD, but paying an overachieving backup, backup-level money is far from his greatest of sins. The deal was signed before he got hurt, so that's kind of irrelevant to it all, and he can also get cut after this season at very little cost. The fact that he's done so little to this point is certainly disappointing, but performance of the backup TE on this dumpster fire of a team comes in somewhere in the 100s on list of problems for the Jets. 10

CanadienJetsFan
The success of the Jets franchise will not rely on the production of a ( at best) 2nd string TE. There's lots of other things to be critical of, this one is way down the list of priorities.

JD has done nothing to indicate to me he isn’t another piece of crap GM You may be right, unfortunately. But still too early to tell about JD. I know that we are all in a hurry to see this team win some games. but with so many holes to fill, the lack of talent becomes more apparent once the injuries begin piling up and the 2nd stringers ( who are at best practice squad players) are asked to play. He still has to answer why he didn't go get some semblance of a pass-rusher and why he didn't draft another WR or two. My opinion, he may punted the 2020 season and is using it as a try-out. Meaning, that he's probably still on the fence with many of the players on the roster. The only way you find out if guys like the Smiths or guys like Basham are any good is to let them play. Sink or swim. Don't get me wrong, i'm not in favor of this seemly long term plan of his because sadly, Sam seems stuck in neutral and isn't progressing. And for that, i blame Gase. His genius isn't working. Apparently, he has carte blanche on all personnel decisions. A 6 year contract really means a 6 year re -build mandate in my opinion. So we need to give him more time. At least, he's a football guy. That's much more promising in my opinion than having any of the Johnsons ( take your pick) sticking their 2 cents on personnel matters.

Sorry I'm not a same old Jets fan and I actually still hold out hope!? We just don't have the horses on offense. Most of our starters are basically crippled and we still haven't seen what Adam Gase actually wants to put on the field. Dude I actually feel bad for the guy he looked totally deflated at his last press conference and Sam Darnold looked like he was about to cry! LOL I think they're just extremely frustrated that nothing has gone right for two straight seasons. If you've ever worked hard labor, or played in a band, or did something outside of sitting on at a computer in a cubicle, Men have a certain Pride and chemistry when they work together. I don't believe there's any such thing as tanking. Sometimes the Stars just don't align, and it sucks to be in that position Honestly I don't think the negativity from the fans and the media is helping much. As far as Gase, Darnold, Douglas, Williams Etc, I think people need to realize that these guys climbed through the ranks of their positions and professions, and they are where they are for a reason. Yes it sucks to watch us fail miserably. Imagine how they feel and how much it sucks for them. Like Adam Gase said you don't want to go out there on national TV and get your ass kicked in front of the whole world! Come on man do you think these guys feel good about this?

UntouchableCrew
I mean the guy was like our best receiver last year. The extension made sense at the time -- horrific injury shortly thereafter and everything else imploding on offense. He had an egregious drop Sunday but Ryan Griffin is like the 157th biggest problem with this team right now.
