  1. 1. Who do we draft at potentially #1?

The question I have is...

Let's assume w have the #1 pick...

Is there value in trading down from #1 - getting a massive haul of picks and then taking Fields.

I don't know how you can work something like that out, but what would be the better value.

Or a guy like Trey Lance.

I'll throw another name into the mix. KJ Costello , the kid shredded the LSU D for 632 yards last week and looked pretty damn good doing it.

Air raid QB. Want to see consistent success. But definitely a guy to watch. After all I believe Mahomes was an air raid QB too. Just have to get more tape to separate the prospect from the system

As was Kyler Murray to some extent. BTW I'm not as high on Lawrence as most , I think he's more a product of Clemson being stacked against a mediocre ACC

Which one is a bigger threat to run?

That's who I want.  In today's NFL running QB's have a much bigger impact than they used to - and a team has three things going for them than before..

1) You just can't hit QB's the way you used to, even when they're running.  And these QB's are def. smarter now and learning how to use the slide to their advantage.

2) With the rookie salary scale, if they get hurt - You're not screwed for 5 years.  Yeah, you wasted a pick but we do that all the time on DT's.  Your back-up can be another running QB that can be found later in the draft - or all over FA.

3) You can win right away with them.  You don't need 3 years to groom this type of prospect.

Get 5 good years out of a guy and move on to the next one if you have to.

Build a solid OL (doesn't need to be great) with the rest of your premium resources going into WR.

Well theres 2 of them in this class. Im cool with either if Greg Roman is the HC.

Yes, you have to have the right HC/OC to go with this style....Someone flexible enough to not force "their" offense on the team but someone like Harbaugh in Baltimore that took what he had and built an offense around his QB's skill-set.

We already “sucked for Sam”; how many cycles of looking for the franchise QB and rebuilding do we have to go through.  Can’t wait just for some stability!

I think it's past that point.  Wanting stability or not - JD has almost certainly moved on from Sam.  The reality is we'll be drafting a QB in the first round.  Might as well discuss who we want.

We didn’t even suck for Sam. We had to trade up to 3. And no one even expected Sam to be there.

Fields keeps his head down field when he is scrambling in the pocket and sometimes even directs his receivers while scrambling. He seems to have good accuracy even when passing on the run. He has great vision when running and is very elusive using fakes and spin moves that are usually only seen with elite running backs. I’m not sure of his arm strength as far as zip on the ball but he can definitely throw the long ball with accuracy. I think he and Lawrence are 1a and 1b but Fields would be my preference.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if the jets and giants get the 1st and 2nd picks and take Lawrence and fields.  It’s actually not that far fetched, since jones looks like a turnover machine.

I’ve never really seen it with Fields, and I dislike that he bounced on two different programs so he could inherit the Ohio State starting gig, and his whiny “Let Us Play” interview was entitled and incoherent. Feels like you’d be putting a primadonna at QB for a Jets team that needs a rock-ribbed leader.

Best case scenario? Jets pick #2, Trevor Lawrence goes off the board & the team with the #3 pick has their eye on someone other than a QB.

Add another #2, draft Fields, have a field day with 6 more picks in the top 80.

He was meh at Stanford.

I'd look at him as a mid round prospect, but not at the top of round 1.

Guess the number of scrubs that were amazing in Mike Leach's offense?

Hint, there's dozens.

Spoken like a closet Michigan man.
