So how do you fix this hot mess?

1. Offer Jim Harbaugh $150 million guaranteed and complete control.  He can pick his own GM, be the GM or just work with JD and focus on coaching.  His call.  Harbaugh also picks his entire staff.

2.  Woody and Chris promise to have nothing to do with football decisions.  Harbaugh only sees them when they are signing his checks.

3. Draft Lawrence (he would come here if he knows Harbaugh is running things)

4. KEEP Sam Darnold

Sam starts next season playing for an actual head coach with an improved roster.  Sam plays well, we can trade him for multiple draft picks and then move on to Trevor Lawrence

The GM has to actually participate in Free Agency and stop penny pinching.

Actually, we shouldn’t “spend” in FA. Until we earn respect and aren’t taken advantage of by FAs who come here to cash in and retire, we should use our cap to take on other team’s bad contracts and hoard draft picks. Free Agency doesn’t work for a joke of a team like the Jets. Use the money in other ways like this and extending our good draft picks early, until we aren’t a joke anymore and can actually sign players that won’t quit on the team immediately. Build through the draft by any means necessary.

Johnsons hire Ozzie Newsome as president to of football operations and they meld into the back ground and are not heard from for 10 years.  Then let him and Douglas so their thing

I doubt you could ever at Ozzy to do that, but if there was ever any possibility? Sign me up.

Fire Gase at the bye week, Vitt to interim HC, Jim Bob Cooter to OC, Loggains to water boy. This gives us a head start on the coaching search.

Reorganize the reporting structure of the HC to the GM, and give GM hiring control of the HC.

Trade down from #1 overall acquiring more picks to build the core.  This trade sets us up for 7 picks out of the first 100 and adds a first and second in 2022 to add to the additional Seahawks first rounder we already have. This gives JD a tremendous amount of fire power to build a real core in his first 3 seasons.

Sign JuJu in free agency.

This is the first step.

The second step is an entire culture change. Think Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool. We need someone that can come in with the clout to tell the Johnsons to take a back seat, to tell the GM "i'm da captain now", and to instill some goddam confidence into the players, the fanbase and the NY media.

That would require some humility from JD, A LOT of humility from the Johnsons and an incredible amount of money.

1. Both Gase & Williams fired by Monday. It’s clear the team has given up on both sides of the ball - both should be held accountable. Also fire Dowell Loggains.

2. Make Brant Boyer interim head coach, seeing as his unit is the only unit that isn’t a complete sh*tshow. Jim Bob Cooter becomes OC. Andre Carter DC.

3. Instructions from Boyer to Cooter: “light up the scoreboard, put the ball in Darnold’s hands 90% of the time to give him the reps and let’s see what he’s really made of”.

4. JD has been given the reigns, no questions asked. He’s got 4 years left in his contract and if I’m the owner, I pull back and let him do his Ficken job. Clean sweep of the entire coaching staff the Tuesday after Week 17. A few names come to mind: Greg Roman, the OC from Titans, Bills OC, Darrell Bevell. Search the College ranks too. Interview as many people as possible.

5. FA focus:

- 2 x WR: Go get JuJu, and either Sammy Watkins, Kenny Stills, or Allen Robinson (whoever ends up the best available FA of the three).

- We need corners: Depends who comes available but we need to add 2-3 CBs. Xavier Rhodes, Jason Verrett, Quinton Dunbar, Patrick Peterson, TJ Carrie are all set to be FA next year for now.

6. With a likely top 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets... trade down. We need as many picks as possible. OL, Edge, OL, Edge. Two areas we’ve been talking about for years that never seem to get solved. Also, another QB between rounds 2-5, even if Sam balls out.

7. Enter 2021 chasing that new 7th seed wildcard spot.

Aj green hasn't been able to stay healthy since 2017. You think he's going to come to the Jets and turn it around?

I broken down, clearly slowed down older, part time, mentally checked out Green > Full time everybody on our wide receiving corp.

1) Fire the entire coaching staff

2) Let Douglas be solely responsible for picking the next head coach. If the next coach sucks, he can take Douglas with him. Look for offensive minds that come from statistically impressive offenses (unlike Gase)

3) You absolutely have to add (at least) 1 above average starter at WR, OL, Edge and CB. Douglas Idzik'd this year to be in a prime position for next year's FA class. I don't want to hear sh!t next year, sign people.

4) For the next 2 drafts, trade down as often as you can. The roster is barren due to the last decade. The team needs depth at the prime positions.

.....to fix this, you need both culture change and a major infusuion of talent and chruning of your roster.

Douglass shouldn't be fired...he didn't hire Gase, and most of this roster, especially the crap contracts still on it, weren't his doing.  He drafted Becton....that's W, and trading Jamal Adams for the haul he got back was good....Adams is a great piece, but he isn't the guy you have to rebuild a team around....Douglass deserves a chance to mold this thing into something cohesive and of his own doing.

Hire Eric Bienemy as HC.  You may think he is just Andy Rieds clipboard holder etc....but he comes with alot of credibility, Andy Rieds endorsement, and he'll bring the culture change you need, along with a very creative playbook and history of getting alot out of the QB spot, OL and RB positions.  He is detial oriented and commands a room.  He'll bring in good people and provide legitamacy from day 1.

.....I don't know the answer to this question, but either you think Darnold is legit (I don't know the answer to this) or you don't and you have the 1/1 and take Trevor....either way, have to be 100 percent on board fro the GM, to HC to ownership with you QB....

IF that means you are good with Darnold, take the bounty of picks for the 1/1 and churn the hell out of that roster.

If that means you want Trevor....put Darnold on the market....see what you might get....there'd be a market there.  build the roster.

You aren't winning year 1 of your new HC and new QB....so when you spend your FA dollars....some of that needs to go to guys who help install the new culture...get leaders that share the new HC vision and program.  Get guys that show up on time to meetings and call out dudes for not paying attention, making mistakes, etc.

The ingredients for success aren't unobtainable.....you have your GM, you need a HC, and one way or the other, you will have your QB that you are 100 percent committed to as the franchise QB.  Or at least you should...the circumstances for you to have those 3 things by the 2021 offseason are in place.

You'll know things are going right when you see them cut loose some bad contracts and EAT some serious cap because the culture change/roster churn is THAT important.

It can happen....there's no reason why it shouldn't happen.
