Titans to receive a real harsh punishment?

Since when did some random executive from a random team making a random guess mean anything? Seriously?

If the Titans get THAT severe of a punishment for what they did, it makes the previous Patriots punishments look absolutely ridiculous.

You can directly cheat the game multiple times and get a slap on the wrist or you can have unauthorized practices and get your season wrecked.

Seems legit.

Well, they'll argue that this is much worse because Covid.

Yup, it's not about integrity. It's about the real threat of this type of behavior shutting down the entire season and costing a metric fukton of money.

The flipside to that is that it's ALL about $ and not about lives on any level at all. Remember when that hypocrite fraud Jeff Bezos was flagrantly not protecting Amazon workers and they were all getting sick and dying like flies? Then he tried to silence the workers that complained that they weren't being properly protected? Then he made all of these commercials about how much he gives a sh it about the safety of his workers in the workplace ad nauseum and how protected they all are?

The NFL has to pretend about caring about protecting the people within their product because people comprise the product and other people buy the product.

I don't disagree with you, I'm just presenting another facet which even on a surface level we all know is true.

Cheating to get an edge in a game is bad, cheating the health provisions put in place to keep a billion dollar industry in business is far worse. Not even in the same discussion imo and I hate the Pats.

Hard to get mad over players living. A practice outside...I mean who cares. If the NFL suspends the coach over that then the players should refuse to play.

Exactly my thoughts. Not to mention not being able to practice puts you at a flat out competitive disadvantage.

While I understand the "putting the nfl at risk" argument to an extent, it ignores the simple reality... these were players that were tested more than most people in the US outside of medical personnel and there were a few of them practicing together, that's it.

I think it's far more likely that some random staffer or trainer who the NFL pays less attention to, spread the virus.

They aren't going to get punished for having more players test positive, they are getting punished for ignoring the protocols in the first place and then, after getting their first positive and being told to hold no in-person meetings. deciding to say FU to the NFL and hold illegal meetings which then caused more positives and possibly risking a 2nd cancelled week.
It's mindblowing that an NFL team would do something that egregious.

I see what you're saying, but the Titans as an organization didnt direct these players to do this. They are getting heat on two fronts, 1- People being lax with PPE in their facility (which undoubtedly all teams are struggling with along with every business in America) and 2- Players organizing their own workouts.

When an employee goes and murders someone while on their day off, it doesnt make much sense to punish the business they worked for.

Sure, suspend/fine the players who broke protocol, but taking draft picks away, suspending the GM and coach? That's only what you do if you want to make a public example of someone.
