yea?  and how about the support staff that surrounds them?  It's not just about the person infected; it's about the spread of the disease.

For sure, I actually started to type out that the bugger concern should be for the players parents and grandparents were who now at greater risk but got lazy.

Unless they juice, are obese, or have an underlying chronic illness.

All of which make the flu a potential killer too.

But we can still hope they cancel the season due to the circumstances.

The problem with hoping that they cancel the season now is that it gives Gase a legitimate shot to return as our HC in 2021.

The Johnson's already decided not to fire him after the Denver game, so you have to assume that we need the Jets to embarrass us a few more times this season before Gase is officially getting the axe.

Jets Player tests positive for Covid

There are several reports saying that the Jets have had a player test positive for Covid. First, let’s start by saying if this is true we hope they recover very soon. Being on the injury report for Covid is different than a pulled hamstring, so player safety and health comes before everything else.

As far are the situation goes, the tweets below tell the story as we know it right now. The players have been sent home, the player involved is being retested. The Cardinals are scheduled to fly to NJ today for the game on Sunday. Anything else is just speculation at this point, so we will let this situation unfold. The NFL has pushed games back a day or two in the past, so we should know more soon.

Per source, the Jets have a "presumptive positive" test result. They've sent the players and coaches home out of an abundance of caution. The player is being re-tested.

The Jets player who potentially tested positive has been re-tested. Results should be known at some point today. Players were in the building this morning when the team became aware of this, and were sent home immediately. #Jets

Jets are having their offensive players tested again this morning because they are believed to have been in close contact with the player that tested positive for COVID-19, per sources. #TakeFlight

Reminder that, depending on circumstances, the NFL has indicated it will not postpone a game for a single positive test. Much will depend on test results for others, what contact tracing shows about close contacts, etc.

at this stage, there is nothing to indicate the status of the game is in jeopardy, per Garafolo.

From NFL.com

This is interesting to me for a couple of reasons.  First, the positive test still needs to be confirmed.  Second, if it is confirmed then the Jets' "Patient zero" who was the first to be infected may have infected others who will not test positive until perhaps tomorrow or later.  This was the oversight in the NFL policy, that a player could have been exposed and infected but tests negative for a couple days until the virus replicates enough that the viral load is big enough to show a positive test.  The Jets could have several infected players even if only one has tested positive so far.

EDIT: Disregard.  Seems like a false positive now. lol
