I’ve been a Yankees fan since 1968, I’ve had season plans to them. However, baseball should have a cap just like the NFL. It’s not right that teams can’t afford to retain their  top players and only the same handful of teams bid on them. BTW, if you are a Mets fan, once Cohen gets approved as their new owner, I expect the Mets to join in on the high spending teams.

Yes but you won't catch me starting threads in the football forum bragging about how well-run the Mets are and/or trying to paint them as some underdog story.

I'll just be happy for the wins.

This. It's regrettable but otherwise, the only choice is to NOT compete.

Some teams with small payrolls (like the Rays) DO compete, and its admirable.

It's the teams who intentionally try not to compete, like the Orioles, that has to make being a fan impossible.

I agree with you, I’ve never started a thread like that.

This does concern me.  While I do want the Mets to spend more than they do (e.g. they should be able to keep their own guys like Wheeler), I don't want them buying everyone up.  I mean, it would be fun for a little while but, after a while, it would be pretty boring.
