Yeah I do see some ball placement inconsistency in the live games I have seen him in. I don’t even know where to begin in accessing these college QB’s anymore. Josh Allen couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn house and now...lol

He’s the #1 overall pick, I just think he’s going to need a system.  Like I couldn’t see him succeeding in Arians system, too vertical.  Payton’s system would be a good fit.

They got it right.  42-42.  11 minutes left.  Anyone watching Clemson - Miami should flip on Bama - Ole Miss on ESPN.  Wild game.

Lots of high scoring games today but it's been crazy fun with all of the top ranked teams playing each other. And we still haven't seen the Big10 or Pac12.

Texas is a fun team to watch and I'd burn a pick on Ehlinger....worst case scenario he turns into an amazing LB.

The Bama game is like a basketball game the way these teams are running up and down the court field.

Do you prefer watching the Jets dropping a 10 burger?

I'm not much of a college football fan at all, but it seems silly to just diss the college game because of high scoring contests.

These were some of the scores from last week's NFL slate:

  • Browns 49, Cowboys 38
  • Buccaneers 38, Chargers 31
  • Broncos 37, Jets 28
  • Saints 35, Lions 29
  • Bengals 33, Jaguars 25

They aren't playing much defense in the NFL, either.

It’s why I diss them both.

I preferred it when high scoring games were a novelty and not the norm. The sport is dying. It’s painfully obvious but it will be dead before people notice.

You need to turn into one, it's a much better game and it's nice to see you posting in a CFB thread.

I watch games from time to time, I just have never been able to get into it.  I'll "adopt" teams here and there but it just doesn't work.  I guess its because I don't really have a dog in the fight.  My alma mater didn't have football, lol.

We already knew the sport was dying a slow death.  The game started dying the moment the concussions "scandal" made its way into the national consciousness.

Just enjoy having football while you can because a day is coming when it may no longer exist, at least not in any recognizable form.

^^That's the same reason why I haven't really been able to get into CFB, despite several attempts. I pretty much only watch when the Jets need a QB, lol.

So...you watch all the time?

At this point, we should probably all be heading west to burn the USC program to the ground.  Just to remove any more temptation for this franchise to draft one from there.

I tend to agree but these high scoring games aren't going anywhere and are the new norm, you need too look no further than all of the rules changes that have slowly been implemented over the last two decades....yes, two decades.

The younger generation cares more about fantasy points and that is why you see these leagues putting up a ton more points, it's all about viewership and bending the rules helps the overall score.

I've been watching college football since the early 80's and I've never had a dog in the fight and that can be a good thing. Personally I always root against a handfull of teams but have never had a favorite, I normally route for the underdog.

Najee Harris is a complete stud. Would love to see him in green and white.

@Paradis

I had a long day, traveling, ferries, fighting with the old lady - haven’t so much has sniffed a highlight. The first half numbers didn’t stand out, but your posts tell me it was a different story in the second half.

thats good. Like, Harris backing up his performance last season with another knockout year is a good thing. More options for us... I didn’t see it in 2018 but I guess he’s proving me wrong...

Now, D Smith vs J Waddle... 😈

Climb aboard buddy.

i appreciate what you’re laying down, but like @RobR said it’s not a bad thing to be flexible on who you rally behind. You can just enjoy the game - without the drama of being frustrated. I like to consider myself a Gator fan, but put me against a life long loyalist like @JiF and I’m not in the conversation. I got teams for every conference I like to watch - and above all - just the thrill of the game. Watching programs catch fire or Seeing David take down Goliath...love rooting for those underdogs.

Well yeah but I wouldn't necessarily call Lawrence inaccurate.  He certainly has flaws though and benefits from a lot of YAC.  Just 6.8 Yards per Attempt tonight, albeit against a good defense.

I know people hate drafting RBs in the 1st round, but I would love to see Etienne in green & white with the Seattle pick. Etienne is going to be an instant impact player (regardless of who the QB is) and it would be nice to have him on a rookie contract for 5 years.

Also, is it time to start debating Pitts vs. any of the top WR prospects?

Pitts could go before any of the WRs.   He’s a lock for the top 15 right now and could find himself easily in the top 6-8.  He’s exactly what the Jets need though, regardless of who the QB is, the Jets need someone to work the middle of the field and much needed red zone threat.

Im with you i would take TL and Etienne especially since the seattle pick and 2nd rd pick seems like there gonna be very close to each pther.

They have legislated defense out of the NFL over the last 10 years. Especially secondary play.

Watched mid 1st Q till halftime. Lawrence looked good, but Etienne looked far better to me. Guy is special. Also, gotta love Dabo....they run a nice reverse for about 15 yards, but LT gets a holding call. Yanks him right there, and puts in the 2nd stringer. Announcers said it now made all 5 Clemson OL new from last year. They are so loaded it's scary. Also, where were those two supposed "great" Miami pass rushers? 😁

I'm watching the Clemson game now.  Nothing new on Clemson's side. Etienne looks like a tougher Jamal Charles. Lawrence looks very accurate in the short game. His 1st option seems to get open 90% of the time, that might be due to his pre snap read or it might just be the play call (not sure). I still see a guy that stares down his target and takes a long time to move off his first read.

Re Miami, Jaelen Phillips looks like a player. With the Jets need at edge, I wouldn't mind seeing Phillips in green & white next year.

Never said it was a bad thing for concussions to be exposed.  No one should want the "old days" of football.

Just saying that whining about high scoring games is futile.  It's the way the game has been heading for a while.  Either accept it or find a new sport to watch.
