Are we still making fun of John Gruden?

Raiders went into KC & went toe to toe with Super Bowl winner & are currently up by 9. Maybe we shouldn't give up on Sam too quickly.Derek Carr was called a bust after a couple of tough years.

Coaching Matters. Continuity Matters.

Continuity means nothing when your coaching sucks.

Soon as making fun of Gruden became a thing, the savvy posters knew he's be good.

He has experience & he's won. It took some time (our Jets kicked his azz a couple of times), but he actually has a system, a plan & good assistants.

I wanted Gruden when I heard he was coming back, and completely agreed with him trading away players for many picks. Although, it probably wouldn’t have mattered here anyway. This is where people come to die.

Derek Carr’s rookie year would be Sam Darnold’s career year. That’s the difference.

Yep but down the memory hole it will all go as everyone now will claim his success there was "obvious."

1. Express unpopular opinion. Get mocked incessantly.

2. Be proven correct. Everyone claims "well, it was obvious anyway."

3. Point out how you were one of the few who called it. Get mocked incessantly for "bragging."

Being right just has to be its own reward here.

When he came back, my intern at the time was a 22year old. He didn’t understand Gruden’s appeal to the 30 year olds like me. I tried to explain to him that he took a journeyman QB in Oakland and turned him into an MVP before leaving and beating that same team in the Super Bowl with Brad freaking Johnson at QB. Flew right over his head, and was calling for him to be fired when he traded away Mack. Funny stuff looking back.

Everyone made fun of him for the Mack trade. In fact, some said he was losing the players. He was TOUGH on Carr, but continued to be supportive. This confirms that trading Adams was definitely the right thing to do by JD. We need JD to now find us a capable Head Coach.

Gase is a dead man walking & even he knows it as do the players. He's now our sacrificial lamb to lead us to the top overall pick. We're not tanking, we're truly the worst team in football, hands down. More guys will start quitting to protect themselves, you'll see a lot more hamstring injuries as the season rolls on. This team 5 games in already has quit and there will be no spark going forward.
