NYJ1
Honest question. We have Ryan Griffin. Ryan Griffin played well for us last season. He was a very pleasant surprise. Herndon is not even a shell of what he was in his rookie season. Don't you have to continuously EARN your spot? It's bad enough Gase is a horrible playcaller and HC, but it's a whole other kind of BAD when you realize your HC is too dumb to know that change is in order? Making changes to the roster is absolutely necessary when you're 0-5. You bench a few players, insert others, and see if it changes your luck. Benching Chris Herndon should have happened at least two ago now.

Barkus
Griffin is not the same as prior to his ankle surgery. He sucks too. Add another position that needs to be upgraded!

Who cares? Nobody gives a sh*t about you giving the babe In the woods routine and playing the victim. This thread asks the question.... WHY is Herndon still playing. JoJoTownsell1
Maybe we should bring in Jason witten to pair on the offense with flacco and Frank gore?? The only way to develop young players is to bury them on the bench, right? Our season is over. Wins don't matter. Let Herndon play himself out of this funk, if not we move on from him.

I like the long term building philosophy and valuing draft picks but the early returns on his draft picks has been atrocious and not one FA or resign has been good. There’s never a good reason to jump on anyone’s band wagon. They need to earn it. Unfortunately, “hope” is all we have and he has shown glimmers of it. After what we’ve seen from other GMs and knowing how terrible Gase is, I prefer to give him 2 full offseasons before I crucify him. I am getting the torch ready though because this year has been a disaster and he’s responsible for a good portion of it. I give him slack because of the impossible situation that he walked into. A worse situation than pretty much any situation that I’ve ever seen.

The object of the game is to make more right moves than wrong for any reason. You need to stop giving Douglas a free pass on every thing, he has made errors. Which all GMs will do. He has done enough good things to still be encouraged but he has for sure made errors.

varjet
Herndon was looking great as a rookie. One of Mac's best picks. The only logical explanations is that the accident was not an accident-he must have some type of problem. And the coaching is atrocious.

Are there any players on the team, I really mean any....who have gotten better, been improved, taken some big strides forward under Gase and this coaching staff? Is literally every single player from FA signings like Bell and McGovern to draft picks like Quinnen and Herndon performing at a level less than what we would expect, what their history told us, what their scouting reports told us? It's like this coaching staff saps 30% of a player's skills and capabilities the minute that player starts getting coached here. 1

People are calling his first draft a bust 5 weeks into the season. It's absurd. Thank you. For all the talk about Douglas needing to be fired its a little over the top honestly. He had a horrible signing at center last year, a horrible CB pick up this year and the draft class has been....well, underwhelming. I give him a pass on the injury plagued draft class because they had no minicamp no preseason, no coach and play for the Jets...Herndon is and has always been overrated and that has nothing to do with JD. He is a better player than he is showing but not the next coming of Gronk that some people made him out to be Sent from the Suicide Watch desk.
